Why do they bother?

This was the "caravans only" parking area on the M6 toll road services today at lunchtime.
Then we had to dodge a bunch of chuggers in the doorway of the services to get in.
Not good.....😱

Sadly for us those 4 van drivers are in the services buying a coffee at £2.50+ a sarnie at £3+ and a Mars bar at nearly a quid.
We park up, use the service station loo for nowt, make a brew and a buttie in the van for next to nowt, block a big parking space for half an hour, dribble our grey waste then bu**er off spending nothing.....
We are never going to be loved on that basis and no-one will take any enforcement action on our behalf....

But that also applies to HGVs blocking LV spaces, we all know that they are legally required to take a break, and how often do they apart from useing the loos buy any thing, and we LV drivers are advised to also take a break after two hours of driving

Yes, you've missed the point I was making obviously.....
The site operator has little interest in taking enforcement action against car drivers & white van man cos they're in the over priced shops & caf's spending willy nilly....
Us & truckers will brew up in our vans or cabs.......
There's an old saying, "don't bite the hand that feeds you"....
Why would a site operator alienate their best customers, they couldn't give a toss where they park so long as they come in the shop and spend spend....!
Us on the other hand are just a nuisance.....

You need to be very careful with ‘ok’ arrangements on motorway service sites. They all contract out parking enforcement to third parties who are in it to make bucket loads of money from penalising the slightest infringement of their terms and conditions which are generally listed on signs that will take you about 15 minutes to read!

Are we any nearer getting the results of this survey, results that we were promised by the club?
Or has the club commissioned an inquiry which will ensure that it will never see the light of day?
It's easier getting a straightforward answer from a politician than this club sometimes.

It was April 2019!
Not having a go at David as he tried his best and his head probably hurt a lot from all that banging against the wall but someone at the club should have the decency to let us know that they can't do anything about the situation!

But they have a duty of care with respect to road safety. I understand they have to make a profit, i use them but then I used to spend my life on motorways so probably got used to the sometimes inflated prices.
But, if everyone parked where they were supposed to then there would not be an issue. Self important selfish people who should be punished.
It would only take one weekend with the carpark operators ticketing every infringement and a local press to report the resulting outrage and all would be good. People do it because they can. Stay 1 second over your two hours and see how efficient they are at issuing penalty notices.
This is where the club really should take action. Lobby, harass, civil campaign, media stories. If it was France we would pull our rigs into the most inconvenient positions and block their trade for a day. Loss of revenue and bad press would focus their minds.
Still, I am sure someone from the club send a harshly worded email some time ago.

We are still awaiting the result of the survey organised by Highways England and subsequently action plan. (😃) Folk at Highways England may think we have forgotten about it..... I did try to follow it up myself, but got absolutely no reply from them. That's why I eventually asked the Club to follow it up. The reply they got was that the results had not been 'processed' (or some similar fob off). I can assure folk that I will still be asking questions.... whenever the Club Council next meets. 😐
