we are planning a weekend in Whitby later this year and looking for a dog friendly site with toilets/showers. Any recommendations?

Not stayed in Whitby itself for years. But if you don’t mind doing the lovely drive across Moors, this site is very nice, ex CL. Has a very clean facilities block, heated, EHU and decent dog walking.

You can get to Whitby by train from Pickering.

    Site looks good ttda.

I can see why the owner left the cl system. However with the facilities available it is still less then some cl prices

Have put it in my favourites. Cheers

It’s a cracking site harry. Good location, our first stay was in December a few years ago, loo and shower block was nice and warm. They do an honest freezer in the little laundry, with bread, meat and yummy ice creams. A really lovely well laid out site, still retains charm of a well run CL, but more pitches of course. Hope you are doing ok by the waysmile

Immaculate, quiet, and friendly site with exceptional dog walking but a 10 min drive into Whitby.

Stayed at Ladycross quite a few times when it was on the club network. Was a good site but suffered from waterlogged pitches in bad weather.

Called there last year to have a look round. Much improved re pitches but I thought site fees were a bit on the steep side. There again, improvements cost money, and if the owners have invested in the site they are entitled to a reasonable return on that investment. Just hope they've pitched (no pun intended!) the site fees at the right level to allow a sustainable return on said investment.

Flatcoat,  before considering Ladycross, read reviews regarding dog walking if your dog likes to stretch it’s legs. We’ve booked Sandview Farm nearer Whitby, good dog walking across the road.

We stayed at Sandfield House Farm a couple of years back. It’s not a CMC site, but is a perfectly good site with convenient walk, about 1 mike, along the beach (maybe not high tide) into Whitby. Also bus service into town if necessary.

    Dogs accepted.

Seven CLs near Whitby, quite a bit of choice if you want a smaller site? Haven't checked them out for dogs or facilities but I'm sure some will be ok. smile

We've never been to this site, it is way too close to home for us but have driven past it, its fairly close to the town and has a view. It is quite a high price though, we wouldn't pay that much !
