Can someone tell me what I need so I can  use a service pitch ie type/length of grey pipe and what do I need to connect to mains water? Thanks.

    Google is your friend.

Here is a thread from another forum

    https://www.practicalcaravan.com/forum/equipment-accessories/36804-fully-serviced-pitch-whats-needed

If you search on 'Service pitch for caravans' there are numerous threads on this and other forum as well as the ability to purchase the equipment

Basically you need an aquaroll, ball valve, food grade househose with Hozelock connectors on both ends and waste water or pipe, either convoluted hose or rigid pipe.

Lengths required depends on you size of van and where your inlet and outlet pipes are. Most taps and drains are to the rear of the pitch not might be any side or in the middle.

On some club sites you will also need a screw in connector for the cold tap, some sites have them some not.

It's worth having a selection of connectors. One affiliated site (can't remember where) had female hoselock type connectors permanently fixed to the tap.

indeed, and I just get mine at the cheapest place I find, often Aldi.

Also if you leave a connector connected and don't realise till you're home, but of course only an idiot would do thatembarassed

Post edit, I didn't mean drive the van off the pitch with everything connected to the aqua roll and van, just the screw on connectorsmile

These days, I tend to carry 3 × 5 metre flat water hoses to connect between the pitch tap and the aquaroll.  I like the food grade hoses that fold flat as they are much easier to store.  I keep 5 metre lengths as they are much easier to roll up, and 5 metre rolls tend to be small enough to handle.  I just join as many lengths together as I need on the pitch - there's no point in having lots of piping lying around on the pitch.  Just my way of doing it.

Take a look at this page

    https://caravanchronicles.com/2013/05/26/connecting-your-drainage-on-serviced-pitches/

We use it and it works great. It travels in the shower inside a plastic bag resting then on a piece of foam and a bungee strap to the shower pole.

    Simple and effective.
