Or a cancelation from some one who has now got a cancelation for the site they really wanted, but Godrevy had pitches at the time?

Yes the 57 goes into Hayle, a quick detour into Philack and back then onto St.Ives bus station. Last year the timetable ran 7 days a week and were 9.25, 11.25 and 15.25 from site gate (request stop). There were also 3 buses back, the last one leaving St.Ives bus station at 18.15. Ask the driver for the club site and depending on traffic will either stop outside site gate or just before it in Atlantic Coast parks gateway.

As I mentioned previously about the popular areas, and as Tinwheeler says above, have a look on the site map. You will see the site road is a figure of eight, well it only takes ten minutes to walk all that. The site as a whole is 6.5 acres, well drained grass, only had two motorhomes stuck in the four years I worked there. There is some road noise but nothing obtrusive, weekends are busy because of the excellent NT car park at Godrevy Point..

I'm not back there this year but I believe there is some improvement works going on over winter (I hope so as I spent a lot of time planning with the area manager!)

You'll love it there, it's a popular site, always full from Whitsun until the end of September, when you meet the new wardens tell them the warden with the big 'tache says hi!

I won't elaborate too much in case it doesn't happen but it's mainly to do with the toilet block.

Choice of pitch will really be pot luck when you go as the site will be completely full, but if pitch 56 was vacant...……..

Something else to consider FB. There is just so much to do and see in area, if you park up your MH, have you thought about hiring a small car? I used to take my parents down on train years ago, to stay in a cottage, and we used to hire a car for a week. Last year, a car from a local independent hirer would have cost £120 for week in July. We used independent hirers rather than chains and had no problems, very reliable and good clean vehicles. The problem of course may be having a dog, not sure if that would increase cost, but it might be well worth considering, it just depends how much you like to use your MH. If you know the area well, you can pick your routes and avoid tight places, but some routes will be tight with a wide MH, although buses do manage.

If you don’t fancy hiring, then Helston has car parks, you will be able to get down to Lizard if you don’t detour off main route too much and get their early enough to park up. Lands End itself is frankly awful, not worth the hassle but small towns and villages are lovely, but some are tight to get into. Marazion has big car parks and is fairly flat, if you want a run out back up A30, Lanhydrock (NT)  has a dedicated MH park with shuttle bus, and is a very nice visit. Truro is about an hour away.

We never used Godrevy, but only because we preferred Marazion, and later found a great CL. We used to spend months down there, all seasons, so did a great deal of exploring. Some of the Summer events are great, very different. Cornishman newspaper is your friend for finding out about local events. We did a trip to Isles of Scilly for £8 each using vouchers from Cornishman! 

We had pitch 114 which was in between the toilet block and the 'dog gate'. Loved the site and the area and could drive down to the car park and walk a short distance (down a few steps) onto the beach. I also have limited mobility but managed a gentle stroll each day - it was wonderful. The walk across the dunes to the beach was just a little too far and arduous for me, so chose the car park option.

Your second choice site FB is beautiful and in a fabulous area with access to many beaches
