Is this normal for a discussion on here to have 212 replies within a day or so?

Has anyone been a "target?" i have only read posts from mostly laymen giving answers to what was in the OP as in "twelve persons honest and true"

JVB66, your missing the point, A QUOTE WAS SAID! 'It’s a very wise bird that knows when to keep silent'!!!!, to look at that quote in a different way with no disrespect to anyone - 'Or someone in fear of being a target'.

Please read previous posts and you will understand.

JVB66, I think you caught the back end of a somewhat reversed quote.

We don’t call any posters by derogatory names. Not only is it impolite, it’s against the Guidelines/T&Cs.

I wouldn't call Malc a pratt. Nor you. We all are different with different lifestyles and different takes on life

I do not think the majority think that and have given what ,as me,answers to your OP which i think as most do , an unfortunate accident , that was by looking at the film not helped by your "missing" near side mirror which would if being in place given you a much wider view of, in your words "blindspot" ,which you would not have needed to give so much space so keeping your whole outfit on your side of the road,

Where do you in reading the posts, get the "impression?" that those who have posted are bored or never made mistakes, if you read them through it seems only one person is trying to blame others for their mistakeundecided

You yourself have just been judgemental by reference to the OP making a mistake, he asked for feedback and you have given it albeit in a roundabout way.

It would be nice if the tit for tat comments could cease. The thread might then remain open for the OP to inform us of the outcome. I for one would be interested. Currently it seems heading for a lockdown.☹️

Using current arguments I am afraid original poster will lose.   Another way to look at it is that the ground is private land so any traffic legislation will not apply.  Therefore there is no requirement to have extender mirrors on either side of the vehicle in question

Secondly those white lines on the roadway have no LEGAL standing and might as well be graffiti painted on the road as you cannot be fined for crossing those solid white lines.  Neither can you be fined for not stopping at the Stop sign.

Thirdly as the white lines and stop sign have no legal standing and are no different to graffiti painted on the ground the barriers should operate in a manner that will allow anyone safe passage even though they are driving across the white line!

Therefore the organisation is at fault for not taking the necessary precautions in case someone did drive down the middle of the roadway when entering the campsite.  The barriers should have been fitted with sensors to prevent this happening as it is very difficult to judge where the final resting place of the barrier will be when it has descended especially if you have not used that site previously.

I suggest OP thinks about the above as using his other arguments will probably be laughed out of court.

I think Traffic laws etc will have as much legal standing on private land as anywhere else ,the difference being as in this case it takes a private court case  ,as could happen on any club sites

interesting in that Half barriers have been in use in the UK for years

Thankyou Deleted User User, I asked for peoples opinions and I am grateful for them TBH, they have taken their time to respond.

I will fight this all the way, as mentioned the mirror played no part of the incident whether it was on or not, it made no difference, the blind spot would always be a blind spot even with it on ( I was on a right hand bend). I mentioned cyclists as I was driving with due care and attention, I was aware of possible pedestrians in whatever form. Is that not a good thing to have considered? but as mentioned I could see my leading edge of the caravan, when it was in view in relation to the fence I knew I was clear. The lack of mirror made no difference.
