Your thoughts on an incident

Is that why they do it.
Thanks HD

The very last thing I would have done was to post the details on here for "feedback!"
You were on a hiding to nothing when you first made your OP, I'm afraid.
You will have gained nothing from the other posts, apart from even more conjecture IMO
Good luck.

As far as posts on here go I see little conjecture about the cause of the accident. The video coupled with Ian's failure to keep his outfit within the lanes meant people gave their view of who was at fault based on the evidence presented. No conjecture about what might have caused it

That's your opinion, I have mine

If I were him I’d keep the outcome to myself, he’ll only be put on trial again on CT. Geez folk don’t make it easy coming on here☹️

The amount of vitriol & haranguing he’s suffered I’d be shocked if he gives you all a chance to repeat it☹️

Guys, honestly I would have thought someone would have a little acceptance in what I have said and why I choose to do what I done, there is a difference between driving in a lane and something overhanging slightly.
Anyways, this has all been good for me, you have gave me many points to think about which if had been brought up in court could catch me off guard. So now I am a bit more wiser to any questions threw my way. So all good from me!! Thanks.
Husky the middle lane I am unsure what it's for, I think it maybe for caravans to hang over from the first lame as they are wider, what a spanner haha

Does that mean on a 3 lane motorway you drive in the middle lane to give yourself plenty of room
On 3 lane motorway the nearside lane gives more space as you can drive close to the hard shoulder when you wish, I have been known to impinge onto third lane a tad when it is safe to do so if the HGV that I am overtaking seems a little erratic as he searches the smiley for his text

Moral of the story for me easyT, you have known to impinge into the third lane (crossing the lane divider) to avoid something when it is safe to do so. Isn't that a similar scenario? When you think it's safe to do so. Sorry not malicious but I had to get that one in
Good for the goose and that haha

I knew you were going to come back with that, so without you thinking I am having a rant or argumentative I have gave careful thought to your reply.
So for instance you need to encroach into the next lane by going over the reservation for a reason you feel you need to and to be cautios, for you to feel that it is safe to do so you would have checked your mirror and blind spot to make that judgement. You pull out because you in your mind have done the relevant checks. I done exactly the same thing, on a motorway there can only be a car that you could collide with if you got it wrong so therefore the onus is obviously on you. Similar but different scenario.. now take my incident, there was not adequate security devices fitted and there was a member of staff watching. Had he have not been there then yes I am wholely to blame but I would still have the safety devices to question.
Please don't take that the wrong way and now I am finished for the night.
Cheers
Ian

Ian asked for our thoughts and at least I guess our contributions may have help galvanise his thoughts, he may now be more aware of those counter views which may be coming his way. I hope we've helped in his preparations in some small way but I fear we have not filled him with confidence. For what it's worth my suggestion is that he labours the lack of traffic management assessment, planning and a possible inferior control system which could be deemed not fit for purpose. I suspect disappointment but I wish him all the very best of luck in his actions. Such 'accidents' happen to the best of us and there by the grace of God go I.

I was on the presumption, after everyone told me I was in the wrong, that I was infact in the wrong, so many opinions!, thats what they are thankyou, fellow towmen/women contributed. I am so strong in my belief the company failed, miserably infact. I would have delved deeper but the mention of an open forum halted me, I thought it was for members only!.
Nevertheless, a wise contributor from what I gathered said something, and then 'night Ian', no disrespect but the skies opened, it is so easy to cast judgement, The word's, 'When it is safe to do so being the operative words Ian', this is what is lost in this matter, what one deem's as being safe to do so....

Mickysf, you have and everyone filled me with confidence.
I am in a place, after speaking to my partner it is all view's and opinions after all. We didnt see the barrier and with all said and lack of information provided to yourselves regarding this matter, this has been an informative yet eye opener for us.
Nothing was taken out of context, I asked for opinions and thats what I received and some, to aid my case.
Monday I will update......
Ian
