Only  just  noticed  your  pre-Christmas  quip,  Nav  laughing  but  I  wonder  if  you've  been  watching  me  opening  my  prezzies,  'coz  the  very  best  one  was  a  tall,  conical,  red + green  striped  woolly  bob  hat  complete  with  white  ears.  Wearing  that  over  the  holiday  period  raised  a  few  good  humoured laughs  when  I  announced  my  arrival  with  :--  Good  morning,  'elf  &  safety  inspection,  Hold  out  yer  wallets  cool

Personally  have not the slightest interest n whether they are Lupins or not. The contents are all the matters.

    Re: lack of  proof reading:

the entry for Chatsworth Club Site still informs us that Bakewell train station is 4 miles away despite the fact that the last train ran in the mid 1960s!

I did inform the Club of this last year when I noticed the error in the previous Handbook.

It would have been useful to have had prices in the handbook!

Done it...it was home when we got back. Not yet time had time to study it properly yet, as there's lots to sort out in the CL section of the Site Directory first.

Given the shortcomings of the contents, it it surprising that the errors start on the front cover?

Everything needs to be proof read!

That should also go for the monthly club magazine?,and we know how often that has glaring mistakes, surprised

But then other magazines we receive at least admit the mistakes normally the following monthwink

As I stated, everything should be proof read!

In so many instances people do not seem to have read what they typed before submitting the pieces.

In the case of magazines and handbooks one would think that there would also be a proof reader who actually checks the pieces before they are cleared for publication.

Proof reading used to be an occupation! I believe that they still offer courses to learn/train. I think theres too much reliance on technology these days.

How embarassing embarassed I seem to have an exclamation mark instead of a full stop. Folks who live in glasshouses.......... 😂

I find it much harder to proofread on a screen than paper, no idea why.

Why quote price for pitch and one adult when I would have though the majority of bookings would be for two or more.Surely it would  it would have been better to list price for pitch and two adults and  X for additional adults

I suspected that the new fees for a party of one are designed to ensure that prices are kept below, £20 a night.  But no, I see some prices of over £20 ... ah but they are for two adults, not one.  There is no consistency.

Or perhaps the targeted market is itenerant tradespersons, so that site can be filled mid week?

I have decided I don’t like the new handbook as it doesn’t give you all the info you need I.e. prices.

I wonder how many club club sites are now over £30 a nite in high season for 2 adults and pitch.  It’s getting very pricey.

One year on and I found a mistake in the April issue.

Page 30 shows a lovely picture of a garden. This garden is not Helmsley walled garden, it is in fact an allotment in Helmsley. For anyone with a few minutes to waste, this is some video I took of the walled garden in 2011
