Gaslow Direct Fill
Has anybody any experience of the Gaslow Direct Fill cylinders, specifically the 2.7kg tank (https://www.gaslowdirect.com/epages/cyujrhdmmu67.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/cyujrhdmmu67/Products/01-4003-67-D)?
I have a SWB camper (Transit Custom) and only have space for a small bottle, I am currently using the 907 cylinder although needless to say not happy with the gas cost. I like the sound of the Gaslow Direct Fill cylinder as a direct replacement as I don’t really want to cut the van to add a filling kit with the added benefit that it can easily be taken out of the locker and on a gas bbq (with the right regulator of course). My main query is how easy they are to refill at service stations, both domestically (and to a lesser degree overseas). Any feedback would be welcome.

We have the larger 11kg Gaslow bottle but the principle is the same, we have had the direct fill bottle for about five years when they first came in00. We have been very impressed with ours and it is easy to fill although we only fill about once a year at a cost of about £8/9. The garages that have Autoigas~LPG as decreased over the last few years but you just need an App on your phone to find stockist.

even a small 2.7kg direct fill will cost around £120. I have a Gaslow system and am a fan, but 2.7kg may not last long, depending on the type of camping you do...will soon run out if on a non EHU site and need heating, hot water etc...
if this type of camping is your style, why not check out an underslung LPG tank from someone like Autogas 2000, I don't know prices but might be acceptable and will give you the same advantages but with a much larger capacity...
...and you'll free up the current gas locker space for something else, always useful in a small van.

The op states he only has a swb transit, not much room for an underslung tank I'd have thought, but have you checked the prices of autogas 2000?
At least with a gaslow it can go from van to van?JK

Thanks for the advice, I agree underslung tanks are a good idea for larger units. On our SWB van we only use gas for cooking on a two ring hob. In the winter we only use sites with hookups and have an electric heater, we also tend to use an electric kettle for boiling water too.The 907 cylinder last a reasonable while for our usage, although it would be advantageous to be able to top it up (i.e. replacing it with a Gaslow) rather than wait until it is empty first and then have the relatively high exchange cost of Campingaz.
It was the availability and ease to refill the Gaslow which is my main concern, i.e. whether any autogas stations refuse filling a standalone tank but it seems like that might not be a problem after all.

So, with your van and the usage you describe I'd say a gaslow bottle would be a good investment. A tip from me would be when going to fill up leave the bottle just inside your van so it looks like it's fixed. Morrisons supermarkets are the most challenging on this.
Price wise, we stopped stocking 907's two years ago due to the cost,

agreed, but my suggestion was prefixed with 'if this is your camping style'....(THS or some off gridding)...
but as it's virtually always hookup and sites, yes, it's not likely to be worth it.
BTW, im not that familiar with the under side of a SWB Transit

We have this system (but with 11kg bottles) and have been touring in Europe for the past 8 months. Very simple to refill and in a lot of service stations the attendant will do the refill for you. It is as easy as "plug in and refill".
A couple of things to remember thou ... the fittings are not standardised across Europe, so remember to carry your adapters with you. Very few stations have adapters. Also in France you won't be able to refill at Supermarket gas stations ... there is a different tax on Vehicle Gas (for cars) versus domestic gas (for heating/cooking etc) so the Supermarket spaces for parking are deliberately small to prevent motorhomes getting in. You'll have to find a station outside the main towns in most parts of France. There is a great Mobile app MyLpg.eu which will let you find filling stations in all of europe.
