Left the sling/support off today to give the right arm some movement/action etc.Shoulder joint seems to be o.k ,but some muscle ache to dispose of !! Taking less 'Nurofen' too. Ho Hum ,,life goes on .0 -
We're on our last site for this trip, no far from home, after a good 3hr run up the M6, with no holdups and only a few showers on the way. Fine when we arrived and managed a walk after lunch in the dry, getting back just before a heavy shower. Off to Ambleside tomorrow, but will have to go via the east side of Windermere & Hawkshead as the main Newby Bridge/Bowness road is closed somewhere along it's length.

Just checked and it appears to be running, but at £4:40 each way it's not worth it for us to use. We'll just drive round the top of the lake and get a walk en route.

Just having a quick catch up as Home now after a great few days away in the Peak District. Day started bright, so OH suggested a short circular walk before we left the CL. Three and a half hours later, and after what was more like mountaineering than walking at times we arrived back at the van.
Packed up everything, but then couldn't leave as a local farm collie has taken up residence under the van and wouldn't come out. After a bit of gentle persuasion it finally came out! And we could set off. Good run home, no hold ups. Van on the drive, will unpack it tomorrow.

Quite a productive day 😀. Went to discuss status of a building society pass book, I'd marked it closed with a date but couldn't work out where the money went to, was certain it remained within the same building society - not a fortune but 4 figures of OUR money. Yes it went into another account there but i couldn't see it as the 'closed' book hadn't been made up with interest and showing the transfer. Mystery solved and now the list is complete.
Bumped into folk I see rarely so whole morning completely taken up!
Topped up generally whilst in town then phoned OH for a lift home with 3 heavy bags of stuff and a large container of fat balls. Well be clean both bodily and clothes wise, my hair will stay in place - why do you have to buy 2 of things to make a good saving? The birds have plenty of food too. Just as OH was leaving my shoes were delivered 😀. We now have 5 pairs of wedding shoes for one pair of feet 😂😂😀!
Also had a call to say underwear I ordered as they didn't have my size is in!
After lunch I tried on the ensemble and a decision has been made!!! 3 pairs of shoes the same just different colours. I really wanted the red, the nude just didn't really go as pointed out by my son and I had to agree. I've opted for the blue, sent photos no response from son this time so assume he agrees. Kept shoes on indoors and all appears to be ok. No bunion issues and the neuroma seems to have settled back down. Headgear to go and I'm sorted 😀😃😀😃.
Received letter to make NHS cataract appointment Saturday, very speedy. Looked into paying over the weekend. Phoned for NHS appointment offered 18 February NOT with the guy I saw before. Made further enquiries about paying and will contemplate over next few days, that way I chose who does the op, cancelling NHS if I decide private route. Had a big wobble this morning after reports of problems with some inserted lenses 😱.
Managed to check our wills for a query, been on the list for months following a discussion with friends after the death of a parent, awaiting call back for the solicitors to confirm that if predeceased by our children the money goes to grandchildren not our child's spouse. We read that it does, set up long before kids were really grown and sorted had to name daughter at 18 to be sons guardian that's how long ago! But need to be certain. Will then have to ask if they'll be added complications as only ones, at present 😉, live in NZ. I expect it will involve a full consultation and large fee so may jeopardise other outgoings 😂😂
Let's hope tomorrow will be equally productive.

Bakers2. I enquired about private cataract op last week. Starting point £2400 each eye and consultation extra.
I might wait for NHS. Glad you have your shoes sorted. I always find shoes the most difficult part of a smart outfit.1 -
Good luck with sorting the cataract op B2, hope you don't have to wait too long. OH took a friend for his ops not long ago he had opted for private due to his wife being ill and things needed to be done asap. But it's an expense that could be saved.
Helen's post about the collie reminded me of a holiday in the lakes with my sister and our families, they had a campervan and we found a mother cat and kittens in the van, they scampered off, there was a farm nearby.

OH has taken our van for it's MOT this morning, think we'll need some new tyres but hope the rest will be ok.

That seems to be the going rate. I phoned and discovered that it doesn't include the initial consultation which ranges from £160 - £250 locally. Whilst holding on, yes I had to queue 😉 the voice kept saying ask about the package price, I did and it was same start price and up to £600 more, this is for difference in the type of anesthesia, local or general. The only upside is the person you see is one who does the op, so I can avoid my last encounter although he's on the list! At the end of the day anyone can have an off day, my handwriting can change within minutes 😂😂😂. I'm mulling it over but because the initial NHS consultation isn't too far away it's making it harder to justify at the moment, but if 'himself' had put me forward I'd be having the op anytime now 😤😤.
It's my birthday in a couple of weeks, should I ask for a donations?

OH has said shes going to wash the car 😱😱 as far as I know no life events due which is the usual timing, if that's within weeks or years 😂😂
My digital radio in the kitchen isn't working, power going in but cant do anything with it. Tuning, wavelengths, it gets FM too or alarms I'll walk it down to local repair shop for a chat later. Going to make a cake first.

B2, good luck with your cataract op
.Had mine done several years ago now, but the worst part was the pre-op checks & what happened there
.I was in "Mid Drops Receiving Mode" when an elderly lady went in for her checks. She came out in tears 'cos her treatment required her to have a full anaesthetic and the Specialist told her that her heart would not survive that !! So, without being told so she was sent home knowing that she was going to go blind ! Most definitely took my and the other patients collective minds off our little problems.

I did consider going private B2 as I was finding driving and particularly towing a strain. On my previous check the optician said it did not meet the NHS criteria, however 12 months later it did, otherwise I would have paid. The Opp was about 9 weeks after the initial consultation. The same consultant did both. That was with taking up a cancellation, otherwise it would have probably been closer to 12 weeks in this area. The prices quoted above for private work are similar to those I found.
Spent lots and lots of our savings today on a move to the dark side.😉 Bought a new Hymer MH, an Exsis t. We pick it up with its new 19 plate at the beginning of March. It will come equipped with solar panels and refillable gas. So looking forward to using it in a slightly different manner than the van. Although as we already have it booked, our first outing will be to a service pitch at Chatsworth. At least it will give us a chance to figure out how to fill and empty it without causing a queue.😂

Good luck with the motorhome. We changed six years ago and don't regret it. So much so we have a new one on order which should also be ready in March. Not booked anywhere yet as we don't have an exact date but one of our first trips is likely to be down to Taunton to Vanbitz to have an alarm fitted. Then probably a day trip to Road Pro to have a chassis mounted bike rack fitted. The expense never ends

Cooked 2 fruit cakes this morning, taking one to son's on Saturday, I'll make some other bits to take too - never quite sure of the cupboard status there, often mother Hubbard 😯😯. So at least I know there'll be something to eat 😂😂😂. I need to eat little and often rest seem to manage on big meals. The only really productive part of the day!
Solicitor returned phone call, confirmed what we had thought. Suggested to go in to review and discuss our wills, they are mutual, she asked why. Said probably on advice of solicitor, she checked we understood what that meant, when the first of us to depart does so the remaining one can't change a thing, I said I thought we did know that. Anyway upshot is they offer free review which they suggest every 3 to 5 years, turns out our wills written 2006 don't think we need to change anything but worth a chat. They were made when we changed our ownership of our house when property prices around here went silly, so we got biggest nil rate band. We'll need to read it all thoroughly again and ensure we have our thinking hats on Friday week. As apparently with the inheritance changes there could be other options. I had a feeling that once examined it would cost!
Walked to radio repair shop, closed Tuesdays, good job I took few bits to drop off at charity shop. Popped in several beauty places to discuss nails. Not productive, some no one about, others didn't know without checking the internet, place I really liked and fancied don't do manicures any more 😤😤, but gave me details of someone they rated 😀
Now sat with a cuppa and catch up. Another positive my washing dried outside in spite of the thick grey cloud!

Back from our first trip of the year this morning. Arrived at storage only to find a MH parked in our slot. Fortunately the site owner was around so he found us a temporary slot.
Finished unpacking the car when the chimney sweep arrived. The cowl on the chimney pot had corroded and fallen into the flue. Sweep managed to sort so now cosy again. Btw have you noticed that sweeps now turn up looking more like ‘scrubbed up surgeons’ than a grimy good luck mascot for a wedding

Went into town this morning while OH went to his Men's shed, bit of shopping done in M&S, new swimsuit,
few other bits and bobs done, town was really quiet.Visit to Chiropractor this afternoon, boy did that hurt today.
Weather not to bad this morning but by the end of the day we had light rain.
Triky, so take care muscles take a long time to recover.

Great news!!! Stop looking! Rudolph has been found, fortunately hiding in Mrs WNs wardrobe. I'm a bit surprised, not that he was there, just that she found him!!

Keep taking the painkillers, Tricky, and you should soon find that the bruising goes. Hope that you get your van back soon.
We had a pleasant drive through to Hawkshead and onto Brathay Bridge where we parked up and walked nearly to Wray Castle and back by a hard path that we didn't know existed. After picnic lunch we drove onto Ambleside for a short look round the hiking shops, but only came away with a bottle of milk from TescoExpress. On to Hayes for some information on a dwarf willow we fancy getting, but they didn't have one in, and then back to Fellfoot, via Winster and Damson Dene, for a short walk before returning to the van for our last night. Time to be planning our next one.
