We are looking for a site/CL or otherwise for 1 night in or around Brentwood, Essex. We are not familiar at all with the area but have a health appointment there and are considering driving down on the Sunday for the appointment on Monday to save the long haul from up north and back in one day.  Does anybody have any recommendations at all?Toilet facilities are essential, probably hardstanding too due to the possible weather conditions ( it’s in February)but that is all really. Thanks in advance

The other Club have a site called Kelvedon Hatch which is about 4 miles from Brentwood. Not sure about CL's. It crossed my mind to ask whether it was worth all the hassle for one night, wouldn't a hotel be a more relaxing option?

Apart from the one David mentioned I can't think of another that meets your criteria. Only possible suggestion would be Abbey Wood, not that far from Brentwood, but it depends when your appointment is.

Thanks David, I did see that before I gave up and asked on here unfortunately it does not open till April and we need it for February. We did consider a hotel but there will be 4 of us so a mounting cost. We may just drive and share the driving 440 miles in a day is a bit of a trek though.

Thanks Wherenext..I did look at that but it is about an hours drive away, shorter than doing the haul in one day but we would have to leave the moty on site whilst we go to appointment then drive back for it then drive  home late afternoon ( work commitments) so getting more complicated...thanks for looking though.

Try Theobolds park site, belonging to the other club, they say 'non-members welcome'. It is situated at J 25 of the M25, north London sort of Enfield way. Then J28 for Brentwood.

    hope it helps.

I'm local so will do my best to help. Where are you coming from? Not sure that'll make a lot of difference but if you'd have a long drive on the day you certainly could get more local.

We've stayed here, has hardstanding and toilet, webpages dont seem to have been updated since 2016 open all year. Things to do locally if you want to extend your stay a bit too. Still a drive but not as far as from home for you! Greenacres

You don't say when the appointment is but Abbess Hall closed Jan and Feb 2019. Not managed a stay but fancy it.

Again lovely area, not visited but heard good reports. Has WC not exclusive use. The Stables

This one, join m11 to m25 and off at Brentwood Stansted

Leigh on Sea  Ilford   not hardstanding or WC

Margaretting fairly easy to A12 and Brentwood

Not club, not used ourselves, Battlesbridge

Posted these before learned of work commitments- sorry. I'd say Margaretting and Abbess Hall are closest with WC or Ilford without. Sadly our great county lacks sites generally 😢

Thanks Bakers we are coming down from Liverpool and have a 2pm appointment on the Monday so it would either be an early start on the Monday ( in case of traffic problems...M6 a nightmare around Stafford)then a late arrival home or stay over and just have the late drive home....lesser of the 2 evils is the overnighter. I’ll check out all that you have sent really appreciate your help.

Oh gosh certainly not easy. Parking may not be easy at the hospital, don't live close enough to help out with parking! In view of your direction of travel redface's suggestion might be easiest, but M25 is a delight 😉. OH did day trips to Bootle for work several years ago - long tiring day!
