Is this true!

I bought my Swift Caravan at the Oct 2016 NEC and took delivery in Jan 2017. I had a basic service in Jan 2018 but then but according to My dealer Swift have told them that I need the Full service which cost me another £100. I was under the impression that as everything is under warranty fridge etc.. then a basic would do until 3 years are up. that seems odd??

We’ve always had a full service - wasn’t aware of any other.  Our last van purchased from new was serviced by the dealer until the warranty ended. Our new van will be serviced by the dealer until the warranty ends.

Well my dealer offers a "basic" & "premier" for £299 (its a twin axle) & because my van needs its warranty maintaining they say I have to now always have this "premier" one. Its a year early & as I had a new Sprite in 2012 to 2016 (from the same dealer) & only had the full service & year 3+ . Having said that it looks like its the norm anyway

What was done in the basic service.   Was it just the running gear , by that I mean the wheels and front hitch,  and nothing inside, like a gas test and a check for damp and water leak's.

I wonder when you had the top up service done? Was it early enough to have maintained your water ingress warranty or is that now void?

Basically the caravan manufacturer can stipulate the service needed in the guarantee and to maintain it you have to follow the service requirements stipulated. If a basic service is short of this then getting the balance done should be sufficient if within the time limit for a service, but I would ask the dealer why they did not tell you that the basic was not enough to maintain the guarantee in the first place.
