Travelled home this morning after a lovely relaxing weekend away at Moreton in Marsh, first trip of 2019. The site was very quiet and mostly motorhomes 😯
We had a mooch round Stow on the Wold and walked to Batsford.
OH has to clean the roof of the van when we got home, the birds must have been using it for target practice 😉😄 Skylights were covered.!!!
OH was asked to change his days at work, has Friday off so we are going to the Peak District next weekend ☺

Thanks Moulesy, M in M site is nice especially in the winter, as it's usually quiet. It is getting a bit expensive now though
We are staying on a CL near Buxton, one we haven't used before.
Hope you can get away in the van before too long.

Now that was a sneaky visited!!
Were the Oggs back from Pately Bridge and the cafe open? Glad that you managed to get away for a few days.

Glad that you had a good weekend at M in M. Where are you staying at at Buxton. There are some nice sites round there that we've stopped on.

We decided against Clumber, the kids were still off school so it would have been a bun fight anywhere close to facilities! Just two nights, long enough for a bike ride on the Saturday, and then we packed up and drove down onto Flats to walk with chariot to Trent Falls. Rieves is a touch hefty to push up that hill! The weather was good as well. We are looking to do a few short tours these next few weeks, if weather is kind. The Oggs had just got back, Mrs O was busy in cafe giving things a good clean and doing some baking ready for reopening on 10th, so we missed out. Mr O and the lads were doing something with A I Man, we didn’t enquire what, but there was some heavy bellowing and a bit of ‘hoy, hoying’ so we are guessing lots of little calves will be making an appearance! There were some gorgeous little ones in pens, not very old. Just pondering on where next........won’t be too far away.🤔

Thanks Brue. Actually, Bailey, or any other manufacturer are not actually accepting responsibility for all the axle problems that are occurring. They are saying things like, they think the caravan might have been overloaded at sometime during its ownership, but as a 'gesture of goodwill' they are agreeing to replace our axle. Unfortunately, not everyone is getting the 'gesture of goodwill' letter, and some are being left with a huge bill! We were one of the lucky ones!

Yesterday I started raising the framework for the fixed bed to improve the access through the garage hatch. The standard setup has the framework blocking off the top four inches or so of the hatch aperture. Talk about crap design. It makes you wonder how such a basic error gets through the design stage.

Glad that Bailey did right by you DSB, they are not always the best at customer care, although like you we didn't have a problem getting them to fix the damp we had in the MH. It does I believe help if you have a good dealer.
We changed to a caravan last August but we have a squeal from the nearside brake, checking it out on Coachman forum there seems to be a lot of them having the same issue. Some are reporting that its to do with the Alko axle while others are not so sure, having spoke to our dealer (same one as MH) he doesn't think its a major issue but happy to look at it, only time will tell I guess.

Last night was very windy but this morning all seems to have quieten down. Our grand daughter came to stay last night before we take her back to school this afternoon, she is currently flopped out on her bed, texting her friends to see what time they are all going to be back, as she doesn't want to be the last one to arrive.
Today we have been married 47 years
not doing anything special though we might pick up a take away on our way home from the school.
Cyber, enjoy your DIY, does make you wonder why they would do something like that. Hope the mod goes well.

Pleased to hear that both Helen and tda had good trips away.
Hope all is well with you and your family moulesy.
We are at the airport waiting for our flight home from NI. We have had a lovely 5 days with the family. I cant believe how lucky we have been with the weather. A little chilly at times but dry with no wind and sun on some days. We have had lots of walks with the grandchildren and their pup. She is such a good little thing and already sits and lies down to command and looks very pleased with herself when she does. I have a feeling that she is going to be twice the size when we next see her. It was very hard to say goodbye to them all.

Congrats, Tammy to both you and the fortunate other.
Funnily enough we also have a celebration today as it's Mrs.WNs birthday. We went to Liverpool as there is a good art shop there, Cass Art, and I promised her some extra pocket money.
We really enjoyed the few hours, not stopping too long as MiL at home waiting on an urgent call from hospital. Still, it was nice to get out. There is a great international food shop there. Small place, always has customers so I took advantage and bought some stuff you can't find in Tesco.
Loads of homeless on the streets in the centre. Whats our country(ies) coming to?

Day at home today, sorting a few little jobs out, putting some Xmas gifts away. Searching for our White Rose passports now, we are heading over border tomorrow, into Lancashire. Manchester mainly, to spend some cash.............🤗

TG. We had a squeely brake on our caravan last year it was very loud when coming to a roundabout ect. The van was in for its first servive at the dealers in November and since we have had it back there have been no further noise and we have towed it about 500 miles since. It must just have needed adjusting. Hopefully yours will be the same.

Had a walk down the river and onto the beach today. Had a couple of very high tides in the last couple of days so was surprised the beach was left flooded.
Photos show beach on normal sunny day and second one how it was today.

It has been a very sunny day here but with a very cold wind, i,had not seen or heard our green parakeets since after last years "beast from the east" then out with Rosa this afternoon heard one then a little flock of 6 or7 flew overhead

Pesky little critters aren't they?
Remember camping on sites around the Chertsey /Kingston area and wishing I had my 12 bore with me.
There seems to be absolutely no control over them and I would regard them as being the next worst thing to pidgeons.

They're very loud and colourful, that's all I can say when I spotted some in central Bristol. Apparently we've got them in the SW but I've not seen any more since that sighting.
Nice day spent on the Dorset coast. OH and I decided we must have a go on the Jurassic Coast double decker before the crowds arrive later. The views must be great from the top deck.

Congratulations Tammygirl, ours was last Saturday, just 39 years! We went out wedding shoe shopping 😢, to a proper shoe shop with boxes of shoes floor to ceiling and ladders 😀, didn't get any but did get something comfortable and sensible 😂😂. There's a pair that might do but not cheap and not hugely comfortable so will need something comfy to change into. Then onto Leigh on Sea for a walk along the estuary before going into a cafe for delicious lunch.
Monday after a check on our motorhome we journeyed on to Freeport, not my fav but then shopping ain't on my to do list, but did find dressy sensible shoes, I also collected a pair from Clark's in town that I've ordered, got to go try on dress and 3 pairs of shoes. I have 30 days to return unwanted pairs, hopefully it wont be all 3 pairs 😯 Did have some sandals lined up but my bunion is playing up and the heels are a tad high! Wish my luck!!
Milliehull glad you had a lovely time with the family in NI. It is hard to say goodbye!
Moulsey sad you not getting away but neither are we 😉. Ours is choice. How are things with your dad?
Delighted that those who are/been away have enjoyed themselves. Enjoy whatever you've got planned.
Met a friend for lunch and catch up, met near RHS Hyde Hall, so high for Essex 😉 and had a taste of the coolness of the wind 🌬. But it was lovely to see the sun, it may be a very dry county but we do suffer from greyness.

Thanks WN, and a happy birthday to Mrs WN hope she managed to find a nice present with the extra pocket money

Thanks Francis, we hope so too. The dealer wondered if it was due to them being dry/dusty, we had not had any rain all the time we had been away. We haven't had the van on the road since we came back so we are hoping to take it out for a run this week. If its still noisy then we will have to take it up to Dyce to get looked at.

Sorry, I've just been catching up with posts on here, best wishes to the birthday and anniversary people!
Commiserations for anyone who can't plan breaks just now, we are much the same.
B2 I don't envy you choosing shoes, I'd be in flat shoes by the evening, I'd have to have two pairs for a wedding!

Nellie we are staying at Blackwell Hall, (Trevor's choice) this time. There are several nice ones to choose from. Where are you heading next on your tour.?

I overlooked Mrs WN birthday
. I hope she has had a lovely day and celebrates in a suitable style 😉
Brue I've got flats ready but just need a little lift for the outfit, 2 pairs of shoes bought really comfy heel height, one pair slimmer at the toe, other pair I much prefer but they have a fabric flowery heel, not sure on the reason 😯😯. Otherwise that would be job done. Chatted to Timpsons the shoe repairers it may be possible to cover with scuff dye, but risky. I love the sandals but fear too narrow. Oh I do wish I'd get on with it, but I'm scared. I do hope the day will be wonderful, I'm sure it will be, but invite notes that reception will be on a working farm so suitable footwear maybe wellies. Gee that would solve the issues 😂😂😂. I'm not sure they'd be right for the church or photos!

Congratulations to Tammygirl and Happy Birthday to Mrs WN. 🎂
Glad you had a great time in NI Millie.
Trip into town this morning, banking , shopping and a quick coffee with friends, then work this afternoon.
Our new caravan also developed squeaky brakes during the first year, which stopped after we had it serviced. Then it came back so we had complete new brakes fitted under warranty, great all quiet, few months later squeak back!
Will see what happens after its next service. Hope you have more luck TG.

Thanks for all for best wishes.
Mrs WN managed to find a few things which suddenly seemed important to own.
When we got home there was a small parcel for her. She ordered a pen from Japan about a week ago. Total cost? £6 including postage! Arrived 7 days later. It's some sort of non soluble ink pen that she can use with water colouring.
I just pay the bills. Still, she tickled pink. It keeps her occupied.
Enjoy your trip this weekend Helen. Not been to that CL so you'll have to report back.

We're going to Goatfell Farm, near Leek tomorrow. Not been before but it has good reviews and Moulsey has booked to go there later in the year so great minds and all that. We've spent a couple of Christmases at Blackwell Hall, and by co-incidence OH mentioned that we'd not thought about that site as a follow on from here.
Congratulations TG, it was our 50th a few months back but we don't bother with celebrations.... we just headed out in the van as usual!!
Happy birthday to Mrs WN. Hope that she got what she wanted in Liverpool.

Safe trip for tomorrow Nellie, we haven't used Goatfell Farm, but used Lower Moorend View, just down the road last year. If you get chance visit the The Yew Tree Inn at Cauldon, amazing pub, more like a museum
.
