Monthly CL Opened List

Hi Nellie
Sorry for not replying sooner, Red House is closed, it looks like this one slipped through the net to be removed from the website. I have requested this is taken down as soon as possible.
This may still be the case for some of the September closures as the team has been focusing on the Directory but they will be removed asap.
Thanks
Maddie

Thanks Maddie. Not a good month with all those closures and only 1 new one opening.

Hi Maddie, I've just been through your latest list and noticed that you have Brancroft Farm, Oswestery under Shrewsbury when it is actually in Shropshire!!

Thanks Nellie, I have made the amendments.
The numbers of closures is very high this month which was to be expected when doing the new sites directory. Many CL owners take this opportunity to decide if they want to continue with their site and be in the book for another 2 years. Although they can close at any time it is often a trigger for high closures.
As mentioned in my previous post, we still have many new CL sites currently going through works to get up and running and lots of applications are still coming in.
Thanks
Maddie

Thanks Maddie, it would appear that some of those listed have appeared as closed in previous months' "magazine.

Question for Maddie.
We are due to receive our new site handbook early in the New Year. Can you tell me when the cut off for including new CLs (and deleting closed ones) was please. In other words at which point do we need to start updating the new book from the information that either you notify us of or that we read in the magazine?

Good point WN.
Being a bit of a CL anorak, what I do is compare the CLs listed in the new book to those in the old one, including the changes I've made throughout the 2 years since it's issue, while I'm highlighting the facilities that I'm interested in and adding recommendation notes.....Keeps me out of trouble for a while.

You need to get out more, NTH.

I'm trying hard but it's all these appointments at home that are stopping me. Only managed about 240 nights away in the caravan so far this year!!

Maddie, There are 3 CLs listed as closed in the December magazine that are still being shown when one looks at their listings on the web site.
The Links, Cullumpton
Sallywood Farm, Nailsworth
Glyn Ucha, Conwy

2 CLs on the closed list, Greenacres and Greenacres Farm CL can be found under their new names Orchard Lodge and Orchard Meadow under Cirencester in Gloucestershire. They are under new ownership and will be reopening in the spring but they are taking bookings. The new owners are operating a no dogs policy. Sorry NTH and TTDA!
Alan (former owner)

I see from the latest magazine a further contraction in the CL network.

There has been a decrease of about 90 CLs over the last 2 yrs. Reading the notes on in the club's magazine from the AGM it would seem that the majority of those has been this year as the Chairman's report said that there were 2305 at the end of 2017 and there are now 2239 listed on the web site.

Thanks for the heads up Alan, hope you are well and enjoying Devon. Shame about the no dogs, but there are lots of others to go at still.

I hope the club's magazine starts showing amendments and closure number tags for cls as shown in the current guide and not 2017/2018 which happened in the January magazine. My Geography 'O' Level finally came in handy. (Maddie, you look too young to know what an O level was. Look it up on Google)

You're asking a lot there, WM!!

The numbers of the amended CL's are out by between 40 and 50, evidence of a further contraction of the network since the previous issue of the handbook.

Not yet having the latest Site Directory, what is the last CL number? I see that the web site is listing 2235 at the moment compared to 2328 being the last listed number in the 2017/18 SD, although that was not an accurate total as some were already not available when the book was published .

There certainly must be quite a lot as the web site is listing 2235 today.....although I've not counted them all.

Maddie, I see that the last time you posted the list of changes was 12/11/18. I appreciate that the new Site Directory has been sent out, but as the details in it were submitted to HO in September, I would suppose that there have been both additions and deletions since then. When will we be getting the new list of those changes?

Some of us are on the button, WN.
