What model of caravan is this?

Hi,

We have an old caravan, shown in the photo here (apologies, it's too large to upload directly).

I've looked over it lots of times and can't find any maker's plate or identification anywhere. I'd like to research its technical spec as I need to know how heavy it is, to find out whether I can tow it with the car I'm intending to buy.

Can anyone identify the make and model for me?

Thanks so much!

It's possibly a Thomson but that's only an educated guess. It’s unusual not to find some form of identification on it.

I'd be very wary in your shoes as that rust could have a real foothold but  best of luck with your project.

My computer shows it is a " Bad Gateway 502".

Looks very similar to my old 1980 Eccles Topaz which was a bit under 13ft. From memory that weighed in at around 850KG, so a MTPLM of around 1100Kg wouldn't be far out.

We had a Topaz of similar vintage but I think it could be an Eccles Amethyst which is a bit longer. Our Topaz below. Have a look at this link for a CI brochure from 1977 it shows the details of the various caravans.
