Fiat Ducato Surging
We have a Dethleffs Esprit with the Fiat Ducato 2.3 150hp engine. Its about 9 months old and automatic. From day 1 its occassionally surged in 2nd or 3rd gear, mainly when starting off from cold, but did happen a couple of days ago when warm after a 30min stop. It feels like either the gearbox is trying to decide whether to change gear and can't make up its mind, or the engine is surging. I did mention this to our dealer in the first few weeks, but he claimed to find no issues. I have read (somewhere) of this being the result of incorrect filling of the gearbox oil when it was built, but this is hearsay only.
Has anyone else had this problem?
