What?  I think some one has argued themselves right into a corner, What precisely is wrong with having health and safety/fire guidance? Fatalities in the work place, roads, home have fallen dramatically in my life time!

Fair enough, DD, and at least you've made the sensible (for you) decision to leave the club and seek out something which suits you better. What I struggle to get my head around is folk complaining about the club pricing structure (which has been in place for many years) and continuing to use the club sites at which those very things they're complaining about are in place! undecided

Yes, that's life. You can never please everyone all the time! However you can try to understand the requirements and wishes of the membership and attempt to meet their needs. Thing is to attempt to determine what those collective needs are, that's the challenge!

No good complaining, pricing structure is unfair to some and needs sorting out, at best £50 quid ayear gives me access to the cl network But that is about it.

In what way "unfair"? Anyone who books a club site knows the conditions and goes into it with their eyes open. I agree with you, that CLs are a big, big factor in continuing membership.

but only used for a back stop in case the weather is crap where I have booked.

When was the last time you saw any agreement over a "back stop"? No wonder the members are divided.

I'm perfectly happy to pay my club membership in return for the benefits it provides to me.

I have no desire for additional pricing options.

I am also generally happy, but would like to see surface type booking.

Very few organisations remain static over time and of couse  we have recently had the rebranding and abolition of frenzy day. I am sure there is more to come in the near future.😀

I can't see being able to book hardstandings any time soon Steve. First we need a 12 month run in before being able to put a trial in place followed by a trial run, followed by doing away with the idea due to members being confused!

I suppose they have given themselves until March 2019 to sort it out for a January 2020 start. Although I suppose some pitches might have been booked for Jan 2020 before they were withdrawn, I dont suppose any sites would intend to use grass at that time of year.

In the modern world, the trend is in giving a customer a choice. The old idea of one size fits all is dying out.  A modern menu driven pricing structure has many advantages for the customer who may accept or reject items off the menu to suit their particular requirements.-----Why pay for an item if not required ?. -----------I'm all for choice and unfortunately the CMC only gives two choices in their camping sites pricing.   Take it or Leave it.  Many of my caravanning friends, like myself, have taken the second option, which for me proved to be much better than expected, opening a whole new scenario of beautifully located private camping sites in wonderful scenic locations.---- It has often been said on this forum , "If you find that something about CMC sites does not suit you -- Go Elsewhere"---  I wholeheartedly agree and it definitely works.  smilesmile

Absolutely correct, couldn't agree more, K. But you're going to get into awful trouble from at least one regular poster for saying that! Still, good to see you, me and Corners, amongst others, all agreeing on one thing at least! smile

Good that you were able to find the right choice option K. I certainly am able to find the option that suits me from the CC menu - Standard Pitch + awning does it for me.
