Prices of a pitch with or without awning?

...whereas your 'style' is....?
i don't think I'm creating a divide, as you put it....two folk deliberately pointed out that the poster wasn't a member...which de merited his post.
...but he has been a member and the awning/non/pricing issue has been around long enough (and hasn't changed) for K's view to be as valid as ours, wouldn't you think?

Everyone seems to be getting in a flap over awnings. Perhaps the guy ropes need tightening.

Whatever you wish to perceive it to be, BB. 👍🏻😀

Good point BB. I'm quite used to their personal insults. It's water off a duck's back. You're quite right, after over 30 years of being a customer of the CC/CMC and also a member of the The Friendly Club, I've plenty of experience and knowledge of the Caravanning / Motor home Hobby. If others chose to be critical and demeaning, it says much more about them. I will continue to give good advice as usual, based on my vast experience both in the UK and on the Continent.

Also book H/standing pitches, you can always choose a grass one when you arrive
Perhaps they're looking down on K as a non member because his non membership means he doesn't understand you can't do this (yet), but he's telling us what to do......?

You might not Alan but posts like this irritate me......

I can't ever remember reading any "good" advice....

Be careful what you all wish for, big brother is watching
...deposits, non awning v awning pitches, h/s v grass, charges for dogs v no charges, all these things crop up on here on a regular basis.
Then when/if the club decide to take action on 1 or more of these things will folk be up in arms about the charges.
None of the above bother me on a personal level from remaining a member however I am getting a bit miffed about the many price bands that we now have, along with the extended 'holiday' periods. If there is one thing alone that will stop me from renewing the membership it will be that.

I doubt anyone takes much seriously....

I don't think there is any reason why non members shouldn't post constructive posts (ie not constant repetition of why they are no longer members) but I guess the real question is " would the changes you're suggesting make you any more likely to rejoin the club and use its sites?"
If the answer to that question is "no" then I can see no merit in posting the suggestions in the first place.

Also non awning pitches are not necessarily smaller than awning pitches. Once upon a time in a club far far away (scroll Star wars music) all pitches were awning, then almost overnight some of these same awning pitches became non awning. They had not shrunk in size but there was no clear 3m spacing in all directions and so they became non awning pitches.
This is a photo of a non awning pitch as you can see it is as wide as an awning pitch but there is no 3m spacing behind it if the outfit on that pitch parked near this one, as you could in those far off days.
Now if it is as wide why would you want to pay less? just because you can't have an awning? Is that fair?

Following on from Corner's pic, I fail to see how making the pitch NA resolves the issue as the gap problem is at the rear, not the sides.

And the price of bacon increases

and everybody would be happy.
If only it was that easy . Increase pitch separation by 3 metres, provide fewer pitches and those that could get a pitch might well be happy those that could not get a pitch due to a resultant loss of pitches may well not be happy

With all due respect, no it isn't. The introduction of NA pitches came about around seven years ago. I remember it well and the many posts that followed on CT.
The reason was that sites obviously had been laid out years ago according to the size of vans, cars and awnings then, they are much bigger these days. Also the lack of real guidance from authorities regarding firebreaks.
In fact the introduction of blue pegs reduced the 'pack em in' regardless attitude.
What is the reason and motive behind suggesting otherwise?

The reason and motive I think you and i and also the majority of the posters on here accept that the non member poster in question will try all "angles"to , without success as usual ; course a thread to be "disrupted"without real up to date knowledge of the subject in question

...because they're nearer to your neighbour than awning pitches?..
havent the fire regs have stated just that?.
