Booking anomaly today

I logged on at 08.00 today and at 08.50 was given the 10 minute slot to make my booking which was York Rowntree Park for Dec 30 to Jan 3. I was surprised to see no availability on those dates so I then checked most other Yorkshire sites and some in the Peak District - every site I checked had no available pitches for those dates ! I assumed that most of the 540 people in front of me in the booking que were looking for the same dates however I have just rechecked and found availability at York AND all the other sites I checked. I have booked York but would like to know what was going on ???

Take a look at the "Book Soon" thread in this section and you'll see Rowena the CAMC Community Manager has explained what went wrong today. Hope this helps NorrisCampers3.

    Hi Brue

Checked the post you mention and Ro does indeed state a problem with the updated pricing but did not exactly state that this meant that bookings could not be made at all although that was obviously the reason ( and this was not posted until after 11.00)Why on earth does this club consistently appear to be totally inadequate with its IT systems ?? Also it was only the dates I was looking for that were unavailable, the rest of December was showing available ?

I think tradition could be the answer! After all they offered a rolling 12 month in advance booking then added in a FRENZY day just for fun andadded in other price rises. With all the fiasco there's been with the name change and IT in the last couple of years you'd have thought they'd want to spare their blushesembarassed. Didn't affect me or mine but I feel for you all.

You really couldn't make it up.

The Lidalia site is showing a price from £9:40...thought that's a bargain!! However looking through the price list the cheapest price for pitch & 2 adults is £19!!! There is no mention in the price list of £9:40 what so ever....very strange, but not unexpected on this web site.

I noticed that and posted it in the Midweek Discount thread a couple of weeks ago, so nothing has changed:

Not MW discount, but whilst looking at the Lidalia site, the "From" price is stated as £9.40.  Wow, I thought, that sounds (too) good (to be true)!  And yes, it is;  on working out prices for 2 adults in early December, the cheapest rates, it's actually £19.00.  Not sure where the £9.40 comes from, it's not as though the initial figure 1 has been omitted, and should have been £19.40, I can still add up 2 x £6.30 + 1 x £6.40 and make it £19.00, not £9.40

As I do not wish to meet my maker any time soon, I will not hold my breath!

Bless her, I have no doubt she does do her best .

I tried to get a stay for £9.40 prices as well and failed. Needs resolving, it’s a family run AS, very misleading. Nice little site though!laughing
