You don't need high tech cameras, just on the ground experience can be an excellent indication. Lots of visible indicators to use, brisk walking speed is about 5 miles per hour, speeding between and slowing before Speed Bump rated at 5mph another. Also, just common a garden, common sense! I once had a fellow member overtake me on site, wonder if that could be used too. I was doing 5mph!

    Speed Bump rated at 5mph

Not many humps on CC sites that I would cross at 5mph if towing!

When completing my Mountain Leadership Course many years ago we had to calculate our personal walking speeds for different terrains. Mine, on the level at my brisk pace, as was many of the other trainees, was above 4mph. When in fast walking down hill on even ground it is was even higher than 5mph. Therefore my experience will help me assertain approximate speeds. Maybe your speed is much slower. It's all about knowing from your own experience and not that of others!

I am often when walking asked to "slow down"by others and according to the app on my phone the average speed is usually around 4.3mph when out with Rosa on our several daily walks surprised

Yes, me too, just out of interest Naismiths Rule was quoted for the average person at a steady pace not a brisk one. Adjustments had to be made for indiduals according to a whole host of factors including fitness, age, stride, fatigue, incline, ground under foot etc.

MrsSF has always out paced me mind going up hill!wink

As an ex-highway engineer who has specified speed humps, tables and cushions they are a poor design (no design in my view - either that or they are poorly executed with no regard to the original design). A well designed speed hump has a relatively harsh rise in the direction of travel on one way systems and an easier drop off to eliminate bouncing. Does that sound lice a CC ramp?

It is true that in recent times they are not used on the highway, not sure if they had been, but I have never had them installed on highways but I have on school grounds and other locations. The principle with speed tables is similar however.

I have seen caravan outfits travelling at 5mph or less and bounce as they drop off. Like you I kill my speed from 4mph, in my case, so that I have just enough momentum for the caravan to crest the hump
