Just seen the new site plaques. Compared to their predecessor they look cheap and tacky. Going to spoil my connection of 67.

No objection to inclusion of the word 'motorhome' just the don't think either the colours or style of the logo have any class.

Always considered motorhomes were as much a part of the club, but apparently some felt excluded. Hence new name.

I actually think that looks very good.

The cost of changing everything before it wears out or runs out is a complete waste of money though.

Tip for anyone who collects them: we decided to have a look around a few second hand vans at a local dealer near us. Part of the sales speak at one van we browsed proved very amusing. We were told that the van in question had hardly been used. The look of shock on the face of the dealer when I showed him the dozens of Club Site plaques inside the wardrobe door was priceless! Hardly used my......!

So, if you are missing a few, and don't like the new ones, browse a few second hand vans!

The quantity of plaques in a van doesn't necessarily mean that the outfit has visited all the sites named.  They could easily have been moved from one van to another.  We have also visited dozens of club sites and got a plaque on our first visit to each one but we've done this over the years in about 10 different vans.  They aren't everyone's cup of tea but we like them as  a reminder of where we've been.  I don't like the new logo though so may not continue buying plaques.

I have noticed that recently bought plaques in the "white series" have different shades of colour from the first ones I obtained. This could mean

    1. Marketing have realised the the funeral home colour scheme is a detractor.
    2. The inks used in the printing fade very quickly.

When were the first ever plaques issued? Anyone that old still breathing?

I'm guessing the white plastic will quickly yellow, unless correct plastic used or specified with UV stabilisers. But I could be wrong.

I quite like them, the old ones now look rather old fashioned and dated. I'm not throwing them away mind!

it's amazing what people try to sell on e-bay! I have quite a lot of old ones in a bag, perhaps I will make my fortune?

Anyone remember those vinyl pennants of seaside destinations that you stuck on your car windows back in the fifties?

If you have been a member a long long time it can be difficult to remember what sites you have been to, especially if there has been a name change. A plaque jogs the memory. Mine are all mounted, using blue tac, in the order I obtained them on the inside of the accommodation door and they have been moved from van to van!

It is only in the last 4 years I have started to keep a spread sheet of visits and associated information, prior to that I have to rely on my web site which isn't terribly comprehensive on sites.
