Wonder if folks have started planning trips for next year yet?

We have decided to stay in the U.K. for Easter and looking to go to the Tatra mountains and down to Hungary in the summer.

Still hoping for one more trip away this year first!

We've just made one booking for 2019 to tie in with a charity event we want to take part in in Derbyshire in May, so we've booked the CL we couldn't get into this year as it was fully booked. The plan is then to move on to somewhere near Bridlington/Filey for a week or so to do some bird watching and catch up on old friends from when we lived in Hull.

Oh, and we're on a tour in Sri Lanka in February, but that won't be in the van! wink

Can recommend a couple of nice CLs in Bridlington area, one in Bempton, one in Flamborough, good for dogs, easy access along coast, including Hull by train!laughing

Got a cottage booked December, possibly take Mum away for her 90th, that will be a cottage, YRP booked for a week in March, unless OH pulls his finger out and sorts out somewhere else for my birthday, then it’s go where we please. North Norfolk and Exmoor are definitely calling, plus we might do a short Lancs and Lakes tour, so OH can use his ride on Manchester Velodrome gift! We don’t plan too far ahead nowadays, like to drop in on events or go on a whim.

Ten weeks 'overthere' will be our first trip out in 2019, end of April until beginning of July. Nothing booked as yet but are covering a few outcomes concerning Pet Travel. Planning on returning to Hungary again as part of the tour.

Much depends on our ancient terrier but we hope to be up in the NE in June and probably head for Orkney and Westray or the Hebrides or somewhere. smile

Also thoughts about Essex but as we don't know how things will go with our old pet we can't plan much just now.

Our summer trip will probably be 5 weeks and we may travel with my brother.  Going through Holland, Germany, Poland and then south to Hungary.  Returning via Austria, Germany etc.

Not really thought much about next year, we still have one more trip booked for this year. Would like to summon up the courage to do a European trip but that will depend on how we both are in terms of medical things. The new motorhome is due in March but delivery is likely to be a bit of a movable feast but we will obviously want to give it a try out as soon as we can.

We usually plan & book our  trips away in January and February during the colder more miserable weather with our first outing end of Feb early March. Too much else going on in November and December.

hope they dont have beach huts....sorry that was unkind, my main concern is Pet Travel, the only issue we appear to have with our K9 is having a blood test and analysis to check for rabies 3 months prior and then i think a medical 10 days prior, do you know of others, sorry this is a little bit of piste laughing

Booked up at Brighton site for the end of May bank holiday weekend. Never normally think about it this early, but we always go away somewhere that weekend and, having recently been to the Brighton Centre to see Caro Emerald, discovered the “Strictly Professionals” dance show is there on the Friday night of the BH weekend.  Decided to make the whole weekend of it.

I have no intention of booking anywhere to go with the motorhome until at least next March when I might seriously think about it. Watch >this space<

like others, still touring in 2018....Cotswold trip in a ten days or so, but that's likely to be the last......unless we grab a late Dec/new year few days.

ferry to France 8th Jan......open ended tour of Spain/Portugal, till end March, then MUST make serious effort to get to Italy (and Croatia) from May onwards....

    yes, David, will do.....

as you know, it's been on the list for a good while and we hope this is the year.....

also, with Italy, so much to explore.....would like to take in a lake or two along the way, happy to do more culture again (Venice, Rome, Pisa, and Sorrento while in the area) but also been very taken with the (brief) view of the Adriatic coast on TV recently....might get Gino to russle us up a little something.....and not forgetting Tuscany....all before heading further east to Croatia.

    best allow plenty of time....

yes, already getting the juices flowing....smile

    ....but lots before then......

Surprised no-one is planning to go to the Caravan Club National Rally.  Maybe it and CT are mutually exclusive?

Still two planned (but not booked) trips to execute this year yet, and nothing booked for 2019, just the premise that we will spontaniously go away for about two weeks in every four.

Perhaps we are trailblazers for the new style explorers we were once hearing so much about, but that's what we have always done - and we do it in a trailer caravan.

Yes planning has started, we even had our friends to stay last week so we could fit in some holiday planning! Currently two weeks package in Feb booked and 4-5 weeks in Spain/France-possibly starting in Portugal- planned for June/July.

Before that we are on a club New Year Rally in Dorset and planning on attending others at Easter and the May BH.

Even been looking at sites for 2020 trip to Holland, Germany, Austria Italy and possibly Croatia.

    Our sort of planning...

We landed in Roscoff last summer intending to look around Brittany, but ended up 750 miles away somewhere south of Avignon - on a site we selected ten minutes before we got there - after two overnights en route which were chosen more suddenly than that. All of them were sites which we had never been to before.  I expect next summer will be organised in a similar way.

The weather wasn't very good in Brittany so we simply went south. It was still raining on the Loire next day so we carried on.

We only ever book restaurants, never campsites.

We did the same in 2017, Brittany wasn't good in September so headed south, ended up at Agde cool

Again spring this year we were heading for Provence got as far as Tournus where it was awfully hot so crossed over and ended up on the west coast at Royan laughing

September this year we thought we will give Provence another try, again got as far as Tournus flipping hot so headed over to the alps for awhile, managed to get to Provence still flipping hot though laughing

Outline plans are great but there is nothing like flexibility, we've found some great sites and places that we would probably not thought about otherwise.
