Gritting
I have just received an Email from our county council to advise that they will be gritting from 1900 tonight and that to be effective it needs to be broken up and distributed by traffic,
This year they have reviewed, the gritting routes and will now grit all A and B roads, bus routes including school bus routes , roads to schools, care homes, doctors surgeries, key pharmacies, libraries, and roads with a 10% gradient or steeper
Any other counties advised their residents

Only 33 days to go to Christmas, so "Season's Grittings".

The Scottish Government have a live "Gritter Tracker" which is not only informative but the exuberant names of the gritters are also good fun.
For example the name of the gritter near Drumblane the home of a certain tennis champion is "Sir Andy Flurry".
I think in England and perhaps Wales this is done on a County by County basis so the whole country may not be covered.

Wish our council did the same....they don't even grit the bus route that goes past our house, although they do grit roads that aren't bus routes!!
