Overnight campers' action

OMG!!! i explained much further back that the area in question covers from Stokes Bay in the East - Meon Shore in the west, a distance of some 10 miles. Meon Shore is somewhat remote and as a consequence not favoured by all MH owners due to its remoteness, e.g. no shops, restaurants, except for the nature reserve cafe which has limited opening hours, and public loos only open for limited period. Of course they do not obstruct the view its a nature reserve behind only the quackers would object by pooing on the MH's What they object to is larger vehicles bogging all the parking spaces during the summer, and the inconsiderate ones abusing what facilities are available
To make a point, we have a family beach house just down the road 3rd one in if you can see it on google, it has a large patio area, OUR patio, and yet some people think it is ok to set up their bbq on OUR patio when we are not there, not even implying that these people are MH owners, but this is the sort of inconsiderate behaviour we have to contend with. Apologise to all this is way off piste now and my last comment.

We were talking about vehicles parking overnight in the area referred to in your OP, not outside your house!
I’m starting to struggle to see just what the problem is now as I assumed you overlooked the area and they were an eyesore of some sort.
Edit: Ah, I see. It’s people staying too long and, in your view, abusing the facilities. Incidentally, I get people walking on my garden and parking on my drive but, hey-ho, it’s the price I pay for living in an area everyone wants to visit.
Bye - it’s been nice chatting to you.

So you can park but not do overnight "camping" as in a lot of places in the UK
Going a bit off thread have found out today from our local PCSO that the 4 box vans that have been parked in numerous streets in area are being used as Storage because it is cheaper than commercial self store facilities,,and seems a growing trend, so look out

CY, 48 hr limit....totally agree...so easy to monitor, especially if there's a nominal fee (which won't hack off the locals) and/or a ticket with the time on...
while not necessary on many of the village Aires, the popular coastal and city ones use this simple method to ensure there's no 'permanent' camping.

An earlier post said they would not want to park in a car park. I liked the post as I am not keen on parking in a car park either - but many recognised sites are just expensive car parks with toilets and showers. Give me a pleasant outlook with no other white boxes around.

we also like pleasant outlooks, but when popping in to visit a town, we are happy to use a parking area (car park) of it means we are right in close to where we want to be.....that town centre...we can then make the short return trip after dinner prior to a good kip.
when we 'arrive' at our destination (not always sure where that might be) we are a lot more fussy of staying put for a bit....

Motorhomes, caravans or whatever, they are certainly better on the eye than beach huts. They want knocking down, downright ugly and more appropriate at the bottom of the garden.

I’m sure Rufs 'beach house' won't be an ordinary wooden shed-type beach hut in a gaudy colour, Metheven. It’ll be something much more tasteful - like a chalet.👍🏻

The parking area adjacent to Ruf's beach chalet(too big to be regarded as a beach hut) is roughly divided into two areas. The area closest to him is gravel/rough ground and has room for about 50 vehicles. To the east of that stretching towards the little harbour is a tarmac area with a further 50 marked bays. If the local populace had a group of travellers taking over the place, they may well regard a few MH's as the least of their problems.
Further research has revealed that this was the subject of a thread on the wild camping.co.uk website which confirmed that the local council parking restrictions prohibit sleeping overnight, a restriction which appears to apply to all Fareham BC parking areas, Portchester castle, for instance.
There was a subsequent post on the same thread stating that there was place where one could park up without restriction just to the east of the area mentioned above. This, however, is in front of residential properties and would doubtless upset the residents although they would be powerless to do anything about it. A clear case of scoring an 'own goal' when it would have been better to leave overnighters in peace further to the west.

A sensible post CY and back on piste, maybe the LC have scored a bit of an own goal, however, and as discussed previously, take at look at what happened in Cornwall whilst the LC presumably sat on its hands. We dont have miles of sandy beaches, mainly pebbles so we are not as popular as say Cornwall so I dont envisage we would have such a great problem. We have never had a traveller problem in the beach area in the west, but as you are probably aware they are a problem in the area and once again the LC has spent a considerable amount of money trying to make areas where they might set up camp bomb proof.

...but, again, that's trying to fix the symptom not the cause...
introduce charging, make unlawfull trespass a criminal offence and these offenders can be removed, fined etc, forthwith....saving thousands in legal costs and clean ups, and not requiring the barricading of facilities that can easily be used by law abiding, paying customers...

once again your are way of course. and not requiring the barricading of facilities that can easily be used by law abiding, paying customers... i never said this, what i said was ,LC has spent a considerable amount of money trying to make areas where they might set up camp bomb proof. "BOMB PROOF" was a figure of speech, these areas are greenfield sites used by the public to picnic, play games, some are used for annual festivals such as vintage coach rallies etc, most are non vehicle access, however, some of our friends found clever ways of gaining access, so the council put in concrete posts etc to fill the gaps, where vehicle access was required they put in locable gates and used chains and padlocks, not infalable I know, but if our friends burn these off this is forced access which puts a whole new light on their activity. Have a nice weekend

I have just been reading an article published yesterday about the problem of Motor caravans causing problem by overnighting in the station car park in West Bay and even though one couple were sitting out having breakfast in their night clothes denied being there all night
