some interesting posts, one regarding Europeans seeing MH as “freeloaders”. Not quite the image of MH friendly Europe portrayed on here. 10 years old though, maybe relations with Europe have improved?😂😂😂😂

I don’t think M was sneering AD, just sighing like Wotsersmile

I would say that it is probably impossible to sneer and sigh at the same time, it is however comical in terms of facial expressions to try, but I'm sure Mr bean could?smile

We are all caravaners, motorised or otherwise. It's just a real shame a few try to pigeon hole the others for some obscure reason! Let all the sensible and considerate amongst us just chill and enjoy each other's company!

Ha Ha, and you think the motorhome owner DOES NOT pay tax ?

IF your Seafront has a public road on it, and parking is allowed, then a motorhome would be allowed to park there. Why are some Caravanners SO anti motorhome ?  At least you dont have to pay road tax on your caravan.

And for the record, I have been a caravan user and owner for 40 years before i went over to motorhomes, just dont understand the anti feeling at all.

I live in a sea side Town too,  MHs and dogs welcome. Not too sure about NIMBY caravanners though.

No anti feeling for motorhomes from caravanners generally. As for NIMBY caravanners? I admit I would not motorhomes parked in my backyard 24/7 nor caravans.

"Bb reads all glossy brochures that arrive with his Club Mag"...

    er....No.....

ET seemed to think a post of mine was 'glossy speak'....I was merely satisfying (nearly) his curiosity...I don't really, honestly.....wink

live already stated in another thread that the innards of the mag go straight in the recycling bin, the mag shortly after that...

...but anyone who reads a MH/caravan mag (even for a few minutes) will be bombarded with articles about our wonderful lifestyle and how this (or that) vehicle can whisk you away to 'Nerverania'....wink

its when the poor customers realise that it's not quite that simple (or that their vehicle can't be run legally as its too darn heavy) that i get annoyed with the industry....

when down that way, I've overnighted on Portsea seafront and L on S looks nice too...

i also see that there are no on-road parking (or sleeping) restrictions there. I might try that next time.

so, back to the OP, where is the issue...?

The issue in the OP is at a location where overnight sleeping in vehicles is prohibited. I thought that you knew that!

In motorhoming nirvana is the highest state that someone can attain, a state of enlightenment, meaning a person's individual desires and suffering go away (usually when parked where caravans are unable to do so).

We are all different in our search for enlightenment DD.

which is why unsaid I might do it on the road that isn't restricted....

so, perhaps I should have said....

'....with that in mind, where is the issue, if I do this....'?

my point is that, even with unrestricted parking (overnighting) there will be some who think that responsible parking within the rules is still 'offensive' especially if number rise....even if all are 'responsible' and 'pick up after themselves'.....

now this is exactly the situation with how some folk see ***s (or lots of kids, or bikes or fast cars) on site....

responsible ownership ok, but as number rise they seem to be taking over the site.....even if owners are responsible and 'pick up after them'....

not a *** post but illustrating how 'quantity' might be a factor in many threads that 'complain'.....

so, perhaps this angst is nothing to do with MHs (or ***s or kids or bikes or.....) per se but merely the 'effect' of large numbers of anything being introduced into the (former) status quo?

    No idea what  ***s means.

There is little doubt that increasing numbers of camper vans/motorhomes etc parked at a location may well reach a level at a particular location where it is seen as undesirable by various groups.
