Dornafield Caravan Site
I was going to book this site for 5 nights in July next year. £140 - OK I am prepared to pay that on occasion and have used the site before. However not prepared to pay the full £140 in advance.

Have you tried Ross Park, Easy? I don’t know what their booking conditions are, mind.
Ramslade's not far away, nor is Stover non-fac site. There’s always Steamer Quay as well if you fancy going off grid.
Makes you appreciate the Club's booking terms, doesn’t it?

I've long appreciated the booking terms TW
I was thinking that I might give Ross park a try TW. £5 a night cheaper as not bothered about water and waste on pitch and £30 booking deposit which is fine by me.
I did pay up front for one site last year but that was because there were relatively few hardstandings, and I saw little direct competition nearby that I fancied.
The Ross Park site is only about a mile away from Dornafield

Yes, Ross Park is very close to Dornafield. We were going to RP last year but they were fully booked.
Good food at the nearby Two Mile Oak. 👍🏻

Ross Park is a very good site, we enjoyed staying there last year. Very friendly owners, great facilities a bar/restaurant (though we didn't use it ourselves) and wifi included. And, for us, particularly dog friendly. They do special 7 night rates much of the year.
If I had to say there was a downside it was that there was very little opportunity to walk anywhere directly from the site. But other than that highly recommended.

One other thing to bear in mind is that they have a lot of seasonal customers. We were pitched up opposite one and every day they had a group of friends round chatting late afternoon int early evening. Not a major problem but it did feel a little awkward a times. If you do book it might be worth asking for a pitch towards the lower part of the site where we thought it was slightly quieter.

I prefer Widdicombe Farm when in that area. Adults only, ease of acess to site and area and during off peak there are usually offers. Ross it a bit tucked out of the way for our liking and we have used Ramslade, Dornafield and Stover before but still prefer Widdicombe.
