Warwick Racecourse discounts
we recently stayed at Warwick site and had a very enjoyable stay . My question is if you stay on race day do you get a discount on admission? And are there any other discounts available, ie for castle ? As we plan another trip.

Don't know about Warwick but Great Yarmouth give a discount on tickets. Both sites are in the centre of the race track so offer so ?restricted? viewing.
I haven't checked recently but I believe the Great Days Out offered discount on Castle entry, maybe Tesco vouchers too. Castle very commercialised but lots of history and well worth a visit.

From what I remember Warwick is free as you are camped in the middle but you obviously pay to go across to the grandstand, we have had a couple of fab times there and were blessed with good weather twice, though once it was cancelled last minute but hey ho...if you stay on the other racecourse sites everyone staying on a pitch can get a discounted ticket for wherever you choose to go be it grandstand or centre. last time we were there there was discount for getting in the castle but online there are quite often a few various discounts so worth checking out all options as it can be an expensive day out without discounts. Another option for a day out is a train trip to Leamington spa, a reasonable walk to the station then just 1 stop If I remember correctly, a lovely town and a beautiful park if the weather is kind, we had our lunch there as did many others.

I seem to remember there is a discount if you want to go over to the main enclosure but there are no details on the web site so maybe the discount has finished? Worth phoning the site and asking them, there is a discount for Warwick Castle in the Great Savings Guide section. LINK
I have to say this section (Great Savings) is a complete mess, it's impossible to search beyond the first page for named places. In the end I typed in Warwick Castle and a tiny bit of info appeared, I clicked on another link and got the above link. If the club are doing this next year sending off for the booklet is a better bet!
There are a lot of other local discounts in the Warwick area, if you can find them on line?!

Our last pitch up at Warwick Racecourse was right next to finishing post! Brilliant views to be had because there is actually a tiered grandstand on forecourt, albeit open to elements. Would quite like to be there for a race meeting. Same with Exeter, you are right next to finishing straight. Love the Racecourse Sites, sad that Wincanton no longer on circuit.

Hey, ttda, we've just left the site and our pitch? Right by the finishing post, number 50. You left it tidy.
As others have said you get a free view providing you stay put. We got discohnted tickets for ths castle through our Tesco vouchers (3x) so entry was quite cheap. Best bought before going as online discount worth having. Not as well run in my view as most NT, EH and HHA places but as an important historical setting it's worth the visit if you let your imagination run free. I suppose it would be better when they have specials on like Jousting days etc.

We are very tidy campers WN.
We did Warwick Castle years ago, it was very commercialised then so I guess more so nowadays. Discounted is the way to go. We glanced at price and they were asking £30 each. We didn’t bother, but did enjoy all the history in St Mary’s Church. Kenilworth Castle more to our taste.

If you get the promotional code from the Great Savings Guide off the Caravan Club website and then book online you can save 45% on the normal admissions price for Warwick Castle. If my memory serves me right the cost for two of us in June this year was approx. £25.00, i.e. £12.50 each. We thought it was an excellent day out and within easy walking of the Racecourse Caravan site .

I don't know about Warwick, no racing when we were there. We have been on a couple of racecourse sites and been able to watch the racing free of charge. What you can't usually do (without charge) is enjoy the facilities of the stands etc.

If you can't get discounts from the site office or on line go to the Tourist Office in Warwick, which is next to the Yeomanry Museum, in the Court House, Jury st (near to the castle walls.) You should be able to get discounts coupons from there.
Just up from the caravan site is the West Gate and alongside it is the Lord Leycester Hospital, a beautiful old building where an entrance fee applies but they accept the coupons (see the details on their advert.) Entrance to the Bretheren's Kitchen tea rooms there is free.

There are quite a few tea rooms in Warwick including the chain type ones but we like Wylies, hidden away in the Old Iron Yard, Market Place, it's were the locals go.

A good view of the finish is to be had for free, from a slightly raised area by the rail. Easy to nip back to the van to get a cuppa, or a glass of wine.😀 Turn the other way and you can watch them start and come towards you on the big screen. I bought a race card from near the main gate for a few pounds and that made it easy to see who was who.
As far as the castle, when we went our English Heritage Cards got us a 50% discount. Although I have no idea if this is still the case. If you go watching the Trebuchet throw flaming balls is a must. The range is much greater than I expected.

Doesn't it frighten the horses?

No. There is a 6 meter safety spacing.

I think I'd want a bit more than six metres from a flaming ball.

OH took these photos on a November race day in Warwick a couple of years ago. You certainly get a good view from the club site. The course used to be flat racing but is now jumps.
