May have been remarked on somewhere else on this forum, but watching Masterchef the other night, OH remarked that  the CMC logo looked, in "chef's parlance" like a deconstructured, Masterchef logo.  Anyone else agree, lol.

There are numerous logos that might look similar but only if you take them out of context. If you want it to look like the Walls logo then of course it will as you have made a subliminal association between the two when they are quite different. I imagine the Walls logo is a swirl of ice cream in a heart shape and the Club as inter twinning letters representing the worlds of  caravans and motorhomes. Quite clever really.

Nah, I see it as a meaningless scribble. smile

    I also see a theme.

Simple is a far more appropriate and less emotive word than childish in my opinion. And as marketing fold say, if their advertising work gets noticed, gets attention, gets talked about then it's doing its job.

I reckon every active member of the club recognise it now and those potential future members will recognise it too once the connection is made. Us going on about it in either a positive or negative way also only helps imprint the logo and message in our brains.

The new logo image simply lacks class and any vestige of heritage despite the need felt to add 'Since 1907'.

Certainly lacks that heritage aspect but some may argue that future image is more of a key reason when considering a rebrand. Whether that is a right or wrong thing to do is of course questionable and subjective but even that contemplation can assist the impact of advertising.

I am not really bothered what the logo looks like, or is supposed to represent. I do think it was a bit expensive though, when we had a perfectly serviceable one.☹️

Class like beauty is, I am sure, in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps the Club wished to move on from any vestige of heritage because surely that was the issue with the original logo it was old fashioned and seemed to hark back to years gone by. Mentioning since 1907 makes a nod towards the history but otherwise the new logo is modern in design. What ever people think I expect it will be around for a few years yetwink

There are some architectural eyesores from the 1960's still around yet also. It doesn't mean that they were good only that they are expensive to replace ...... much my view of the new CC logo

It's OK, it's colourful modern and simplistic. I could also say I'm not particularly bothered as its not altered the usefulness of some of the offerings the Club gives me.

Ask me to describe the other Clubs logo and I couldn't due to lack of interest, but ask me what service they provide, that I could do.

Like the Wall’s ice cream logo it is just another meaningless generic logo.

Except the “Wall’s” logo is meaningless and generic by design.  That logo doesn’t just represent Wall’s ice cream it represents all of the Unilever ice creamaq brands throughout the world.  Go to France you can buy ice cream with that logo but it won’t be Wall’s.   That gives it brand recognition the logo representing the Caravan Club ltd t/a the Caravan and Motor home club, is just bland and forgettable.

I do find the club’s site signs easier to spot in the hedges now, perhaps because of the large white element in them.

Really, who cares about the daft logo, other than counting the cost?

Exactly. It has no impact on our on-site experience, the CLs are still there, insurance is still available and so on. It’s just a silly bit of doodling.

Yep thats the shape Wall's ice cream.

I know it was a recognisable sign seen in headgerows shop fronts etc.

Mind is now at rest thanks.

The Club obviously thought it was a good idea at the time and retrospectively they might regret it, or not, as the case may be. In the grand scheme of the mess and turmoil that the UK is in at the moment it doesn't matter.

I guess when Newton Heath L&YR F.C. rebranded with a name and logo change there were those who resented this and vehemently protested but look at them now!

Do you think we'll be able to get Jose? Maybe put him in charge of the HR Department. Heard he's good at communicating with people particularly youngsters. Should keep staff at EG on their toes.laughing
