Yes we are not happy about the changes this year, we like to get away at the beginning of December for a couple of weeks, not always wanting to go to the very south. This years changes may well put a stop to that frown I suppose there always the other clubwink

A wise choice for winter. Log fires, stone walls, electric blanket, mulled wine. Beats a caravan site every time.

Or how about a nice 3 week cruise from the middle east to the far east wink I don't even have to get off, just sit and watch the world go by while my every whim is being looked after laughing Oh bliss, no dishes, no loo to empty, no map to read, just a nice book and a glass of something cool cool blue skies, sandy beaches any day,  to grey skies, lights on all day and huge fuel bills surprised

    Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to read you have been having issues finding sites open in the winter. I have forwarded this to the web content team for their feedback.

As already mentioned there is a page with information and a map showing open all year sites.

If you feel that a list of sites on this page would be more helpful, we will look at how we present this data to make it more user. Let me know if you think this will be useful.

You should also be able to filter your search by date via search and book. Please let me know if you have any issues with this and I will forward back to the web team.

Rowena, thanks for your reply. At present the list is only showing 27 out of a possible "over 55 sites" after that the links take you to a mix of sites, some are open all year some are not. Personally I think a straight forward complete list with links would be helpful and informative.

I've just had a look at that link; as brue says the list only shows 27 sites, but the map does actually show all sites open over winter, with a different colour for those open all year to those only open until January.  To also have a complete list of those shown on the map, with a link, would be useful, I agree.

Edited to say that at first I couldn't find that page again when I tried to.  Found it now under Club Sites, and you then have to scroll quite a way down to get to the "Open all year Sites" link.  Would it be more obvious to people if it was a separate heading on it's own, under UK Sites, rather than under Club Sites within the UK Sites part?

Rowena, I've just done a search again for sites open in Scotland in November.

The search returned 10 sites, 8 were AS, the other 2 were Strathclyde and Stonehaven.

Out of the 10 the search returned only 6 were open, however the search failed to return both

Edinburgh and Melrose as being open in November, these sites are actually open all year, so should have been picked up on a November search.

Try late avalability, which will give all sites open by region for three weekends coming. Click on the site and you will get the availability calendar.

Hi Dave, yes I know you can search by that method, thanks.

The point that is being raised is that the search facility just does not work correctly and as far as I'm concerned it never has.

Yes, I'm aware of that, and do make use of it from time to time, but late availability is not useful if wanting to book 1 or 2, or more, months ahead.

When you click on a site using late avaiability it opens the month by month, day by day, availability calendar for as many months ahead as the site is open.
