I think your last paragraph is sadly rather true. It’s fine having lots of information, but it’s quality rather than quantity that counts. One good review is worth a dozen throw away remarks.

Once saw a review on TA ranting about a historical site purely and simply because they had failed to bring the right change for a car park, which was refunded when you entered the site. So it was trashed, even though they never went in! I bet their school reports were interesting!

I came on to Club together to get a users ( not Club ) point of view for nice sites in Spain and their experiences , cannot find where on this site comments are or are there not any ?

There are no official reviews from the Club on here Tony.

If you want some info then start a thread in the Overseas Touring section. Try to be specific as to your requirements, ie either mention the sites or the area you want information on plus ask about general info such as booking etc. You'll get plenty of responses (hopefully).

It's just that you are in the wrong section.

Click on Overseas Holidays and select individual sites, you should be able to see reviews from users under the site details.

    Good answer,Brue.

And if the site is new to the Venture Abroad scheme this year there will instead be reviews on ACSI, Trip Advisor, UKCampsite, Zoover and so on. Isn't Google wonderful at finding things?

i was on another site yesterday which allowed reviews of hotels. They had a help page of info on what they suggest to include to make a good informative review.

I've posted a few reviews and hope I've tried to be objective. The thing that annoys me is when you point out a flaw or problem and another reviewer then says "what do you expect for £.... per night"! or they say that "the negative reviews are "unfounded".

I think everyone can tell the difference between a rant or a genuine issue and I am grateful to anyone who gives info about boggy grass, whether there are dog walks, whether it's quiet at night, whether any facilities available work properly etc etc.

I agree completely that opinions are subjective and can only provide a snapshot of what a site is truly like and while we're on the subject I'm thinking about booking a weekend at Haining Head Farm in Northumberland  (which has both positive and negative reviews) because it's only an hour's drive away and looks quite isolated but with stunning views (a feature I tend to look for); Has anyoneone been recently?

I read the reviews for that CL, had a think about it and have decided to book the C&CC franchised site near Bellingham, probably easier access and better facilities at this time of the year.

I much prefer to see people putting on reviews as they want to, good or bad.

We would be doing a bit of phoning about that CL, reviews are a tad old, price still showing 2016. Some farms do look appallingly untidy from the road, and it doesn’t install confidence. Great views though, if that is what you are after. We use Whitlees CL close to Gilsland quite a lot, great views there as well. No hardstandings though, unless you go up by the house. Closed now until New Year. We have used CCC site at Haltwhistle, that is ok.
