Leisure battery overheating

hi just got a new van to me and been on a site for a few days.  Had to go under one of the bunks where the leisure battery is located and noticed that the battery is almost too hot to touch.  I’ve disconnected the charger but that didn’t make a difference so have now taken the negative connection off to see if it will cool down.  Is it just the battery failing or something else.  It’s a dealer fitted battery and the van is only 2 years old.

any help greatly appreciated.

It’s probably the battery failing but could be the battery charger. You need to get it checked.
