Wondering if it is generally OK to leave your caravan unoccupied for a couple of nights during your stay? Is there a rule about this or is it down to the sites wardens discretion?

    e. Please ask permission from the site staff if you need to leave your outfit unoccupied for more than 48 hours, unless you're using designated seasonal pitches.

As an aside I booked in at CC Gowerton for 5 nights in mid September. I told the warden when booking that we would be staying in a hotel for one night when high winds were forecast. We were only charged for the minimum occupancy of one adult for that night

As ETs postsmile, one reason to ask site staff is if any "problem" arises they are aware your LV is unoccupied

Some years ago, while staying at Moreton in Marsh site, our daughter in law was rushed into hospital. We needed to go to look after grandkids. No time to tow caravan back to Devon, they were in London. The wardens were understanding and kept an eye on the caravan for us.

One thing that might be worth considering are the insurance implications. I don't know about just for a couple of days but there are implications if it is longer. Ours is on a CAMC seasonal. When I rang the Club insurance they said they would have to remove the discount for Gold CaSSOA storage, for cover to continue. This only cost us about £6 but if we hadn't of done it they could have refused to pay out in the event of a claim.

We've left our van unoccupied on site for a couple of nights, having informed the site staff and ensured that gas was turned off.  As I  recall, we just paid the pitch fee.

We have done this a few times whilst babysitting our grandchildren overnight.  We always inform the wardens but they have never seemed that interested, it’s just been ‘ok that’s fine’.  We have never received a discount for the unoccupied night, must have missed a trick there!!
