Ĺate availability on sites
Sitting on a premiour C & MC site. According to the late availability and even the warden the site is full. Is it he'll, still plenty of pitches for occupation.
So is it the computer system, the site or just the inefficient C& MC. Clearly if I was looking for a site I would dismiss this one as full when in fact it still has many spaces. What are the club up to or do they need to kick out their IT lot who clearly have a poor track record, remember last month's booking day crash !!!!!

I don’t know. What do you think the reason is?
What was the warden's explanation? It’ll be interesting to hear it.

what is plenty of pitches W&J? I mean what is plenty to me will be clearly different to you? Unless you give us that it will difficult to reply?
I mean plenty for your, shall we say 'tainted' view of the club might only be less than 5?

Woaaaaa there W&J. You have pointed out the blindingly obvious really poor IT provision, you are right, it lacks in most departments.
But we don't want any of that, not on this board.
As long as they print that lovely book and map all will be Ok. That online stuff is just a pain and cant see it catching on.

Recently on a club site ourselves there were a fair number of pitches empty as they were on grass and taken out of use at this time of year due to ground conditions I understand. Maybe that is the case on the OP’s current site.

I notice the OP was made at 18:46 and unless I'm mistaken (quite possible! ) the late availability figure for the current day moves to 0 at 18:00. I don't suppose W&J could possibly be confused by that could they? I can't see any sites showing zero availability for tomorrow night! But without knowing what site is being referred to it's impossible to say.

yes very good point

As usual Wayne and Jodie get sneered at. Some posters on here need to stop doing it.

There could of course be a combination of reasons for the above scenario, including the one M has outlined.
Pitches out of use, Motorhomes still not returned from a day out and folk yet to arrive. At 18:46 there is still an hour and a half to go. On some sites there are often a lot of late arrivals on a Friday, perhaps with it being half term this has moved to the Saturday.

Also people left early at 4 or 5pm but still paid for that pitch.

Sounds a very reasonable description of the CMC perceived problems of availability and IT issues. They have been discussed on this forum and others at length in the past, but keep cropping up, due to the CMC's inability to address reported customers' disappointment.

I think it might take a dedicated department to deal with the serial grievances and gripes of one or two posters!

But at least you've had the good grace to resign your membership K.....
Once you are off the forum as well, your protest will be complete......

Or, as a warden once explained to me, there are often spare pitches on a site despite showing as full online. He went on to detail why, saying that if a site has for example, 150 pitches, the online booking will show as site full once (again, for example)147 bookings have been made for a particular night.
This he said, allows them to cover for occasional problems that could occur, for example, a pitch becomes flooded or a hook up supply fault occurs.
I asked the question because I noticed spare pitches on a site, despite online showing full and I questioned if it was due to ‘no shows’. The warden then explained about the ‘spares’ he has to play with.

so there you go all 'legal' and a good idea really.
But of course until W&J post back with more details we're all speculating, hopefully they asked the same questions?
Still it's is nice to know they still use club sites.
