Gemma - 2 Cotswold sites - Cirencester Park has a large enclosed dog field and is adjacent to the park itself where dogs are allowed off lead. Also loads of walks on footpaths a short distance from the site.
Moreton in Marsh - not sure what the current situation is on site but the Monarch's Way footpath runs adjacent to the site and up to Batsford Arboretum. Again, loads of footpath walks near the site.

The best site we have stayed on for walking with the dog is Borrowdale, a beautiful wooded site (no toilet block) walking around the lake is about 8 to 10 ml.You can let the dog off the lead most of the way.Also walking the other way towards seatoller following the river you can let them run free for a good few miles.We have just come back from there and we all enjoyed our long walks.kept her on extended lead on the fells because of sheep but plenty of other walks where no sheep were around.

Unless the rules have changed in the last two years, CMC sites have no limit to the numbers of dogs a customer can bring. ---- Mind you the post on UK Campsite might have just been a bit of a windup. You could always reply and suggest CMC sites and see what happens.

Just wanted to add another site to ones already suggested. We stayed at Wirral Country Park site last weekend. Wirral Way is immediately outside the site, and is great for walking and cycling. It made my weekend to find a cafe just on the entrance to the park which not only allowed dogs, but had some great vegetarian dishes as well! The caravan site is lovely and spacious with views of the Dee estuary. Would highly recommend this site.

Lizzie in her usual energetic state! Now is it dogs that take after owners, or owners that after their dogs?? 😀😀
.....and why is it when you put down a blanket for the dog, she tries her hardest to sit on the tiny bit where the blanket doesn't quite reach too! 😃

Have you ever had your hands full....?
Three of these have been on holiday with us, usually two at a time. Nice memories of when they were puppies and us as pet sitters for the family.0 -

3 are controllable if well trained, 12 would be chaos.
The only time I have seen 3+ dogs with any unit, on any site, is when there was a dog show at the NEC, Chapel Lane was full of dog owners and their pooches, BUT they were very well behaved. Dogs definately outnumbered Humans, but you wouldnt have known it. No barking and no mess left around.......how it should be.

Honestly, David, do you really believe that statement - 3 is "the norm" on club sites? Is that based on your 1 night per year stay on club sites? To be honest, I'm not surprised dog owners react the way they sometimes do when folk like yourself who don't like dogs make ridiculous statements like that!
What a shame you felt the need to respond to Ray's positive post on the subject in such a negative way.

David, you've used that sort of diversionary tactic in the past and it just doesn't wash!
I'm happy to discuss dog ownership with anyone on any terms, but have to draw attention to posts such as your own unsubstantiated one. You say you have been a member for many years but in other posts you've claimed multiple dog ownership is a new and increasing phenomenon. You can'take have it both ways - either it's been true for many years ( in which case if it was a problem surely something would have been done about it by now) or it's a new phenomenon and your recent experience of club sites is restricted.
Do you stand by your claim that 3 dogs is "the norm" on club sites?

That's not my experience, HD. We had 2 for many years and hopefully will have again next year. We often see a few folk on sites who also have 2 (but by no means a large number) and very few with 3 or more.
Of course, the club could settle this whole debate by collecting and publishing the relevant data, but I can't see that happening any time soon (or the need for other to be honest,)

I agree with your post and we very rarely use any other sites other than cc, and also it would be very useful for all concerned if as in the past it was a requirement to give information on booking of any pets and numbers that are in your party,

Sorry David which is it? was your comment about 3 is really unusual unlike club sites where it seems to be the norm.

Are you really saying that 3 dogs per unit is the norm on club sites?
I've have seen occasional units with a number of dogs but three per unit? And all this based on one night per year?
Even assuming that on that one site per year there was a number of dogs per every unit, how can you extrapolate that to being the norm on all club sites?
