Thetford fridge freezer door seal
I have a bailey 620/6 ranger with a thetford fridge freezer.model N97. The problem I have is part of the seal on the freezer box has perished . Having contacted Thetford they say you have to buy the door as well .Surely this seal can be replaced with an alternative

Google for seals - there is a company I used for new seal around gas locker . They helped imediately.
They do hundeds of seals and show the profiles and measurements.

You could have a look here but I can only see complete doors not seals. I don't think it uncommon of domestic refrigeration for the seals to be preformed as part of the door and as such not be replaceable. It often depends on the make.

today I have received the door from leisure shop direct which cost £65.00 inc postage . could not find a good match and got fed up looking for an alternative seal . But I will say that it is very easy to take the door apart to replace the seal if one was available.

Many thanks to David Klyne for telling me about this company

Glad you got it sorted albeit a bit on the expensive side!

It is when all you really want is a 50p bit of rubber.

It was a hypothetical price. It's a bit like a new light lens for a Mk4 Cortina. £35 for a poxy bit of plastic that's worth a couple of quid.

For what its worth I had a similar problem with the seal on my Thetford Freezer door - took it off, stripped the old seal off and cleaned the door, then replaced the seal with the self adhesive soft rubber draught excluder, bought cheaply from a DIY store. Works a treat !!

Remove the freezer door (2 screws)
Cut the raised section of rubber seal off the flat backing with a Stanley knife and then stick the silicon seal (link below) onto the flat backing.
Mitre the corners and it looks good & works a treat.
Total cost under a tenner with plenty left over to repeat the repair
Seal is available from Amazon

Thanks Chappo! Had the same problem and wasn't going to buy a new door just for the seal!
Did exactly what you described and bought 9mm x 6mm hollow sponge rubber D section on Ebay. Cost £2.50 and only used half of it. Works perfectly.

I'm not sure if they do fridge door seals, but they do just about everything else and are worth bookmarking for another time if no good this time.

HI L & L I cannot find this seal on an ebay search. Do you have the name & address or telephone number of the site you bought it from as I have the same problem with my van freezer door.
