Booking Hardstandings
I looked at the booking page for the Broadway CC site.
Strange! It shows grass with awnings and grass without awnings followed by hardstandings etc.
The grass ones show fully booked though next year or closed and the hardstandings shows availability
Is something afoot (other than 12 inches)??

Does look a bit odd. Mind you there are only 4 grass pitches at Broadway as perhaps its listed that way just in case people assume that its all hardstanding? Lets hope they expand the concept to more sites.

I was looking at The Howard, Rosedale Abbey site for a spring break next year, and I was given the option of booking a grass or hardstanding pitch, which I thought was a bit odd, there are only a few hardstanding pitches too.

They have put HS pitches in at Rosedale Abbey this year, used to be primarily grass. The plot thickens ( just like Mud)!

This should please the many that prefer hard standing. Maybe the powers that be have listened and responded. Wonder why it was not announced if that is the case.

The same thing happened at Lower Wensleydale site where the web page showed a number of grass pitches, When I rang in the wardens were as surprised as I was and it has since been corrected.

I have reported EasyT's post asking for some official clarification. It would be nice to think they are at long last moving in that direction.

I have a dream, that one day all sites will be equal .. and hardstanding

.... and hardstanding.
If that happens i'm off.

at least their website might work?

It’s often reasons beyond the club's control. Planning constraints, for example.
Also, a site needs to do sufficient business to meet its outgoings and many may not do so in winter.

I am sure in this day and age, and with discussions, be it with Local Councils etc., that sites could be open longer. We bring in custom to the area. Tourism in what ever form. Also having spoken to many current wardens, more than a few have shown interest in opening longer and staying on site for this. Dialogue I would suggest with respective parties would help....
