It has come to attention that another website which bears extraordinary resemblance to that of Brett Caravans has appeared, with remarkably low-priced caravans and motorhomes apparently available. This website uses content without permission from legitimate dealerships, and bears all the hallmarks of being the same scam as Brett Caravans. Never part with money to secure a vehicle which appears on a website such as this unless you can determine that the vehicle actually exists for you to buy. Always check the dealership is real (e.g. a simple check is to look up the trading address on Google Street View, or ask when and where you can come and view the vehicle). Confirm affiliations such as Approved Workshop status with the relevant websites. Most of all, if an offer looks too good to true, it probably is….

    Thanks, Ro.

That’s a good example of the club and forum being proactive in bringing such matters to the attention of members. 👍🏻

I remember reading a thread not so long ago about the same thing, link HERE

Seems like they've reared their ugly heads again.

Hope you do not mind, but I have copied this to the other clubs forum to warn anyone from there.

Excellent advice Ro, but, lets be honest, only a small % of the club's membership read these pages.

Would it be possible to have a (fairly prominent) piece in the magazine citing these two scams and warning the membership as a whole to be vigilant. If this were done a much larger number of members would see the advice.

The problem with printing such a warning is that the club may have to back up it's allegations with hard and fast evidence in a court if sued for for libel.

Whilst the club may have anecdotal evidence, that may prove insufficient.

If it was anything like the previous people their website claimed to be associated/approved by the Club and to me that would be enough to support the Club's warning.

It's a narrow lane off the A32 in the village of West Meon. Certainly no commercial premises there. You'd be hard put to get any sort of MH down the lane.

Isn't that reported as the Companies Registered address?  Sounds like the Brett scam where they used a proper companies registration to sound authentic although the price of the vans would indicate to me it was a scam

Just had a look at Goggle earth and there is not one MH or Caravan at the property so that should give folks a warning bell
