CRiS security upgrade kit
Has anybody else who has fitted the upgrade kit found that the supposed tamperproof window stickers have started to curl up and come off? I'm reasonably good at following instructions and carrying out practicle tasks - I don't tend to take short cuts so as instructed I cleaned the areas of the inside of the windows where the labels where to be placed using meth spirit and the cloth provided in the pack. Its been very hot this summer and I wonder whether this might have caused the problem. I've contacted CRiS and await their response.

I've now had a response from CRiS - at least they responded promptly.
"This isn’t something other customers have reported to us however I will feedback your experience to our VIN Chip team."
They have offered to send me some replacement labels but I have declined the offer - I shall rely on the etched vin number that each window had from when the van was new.

I've found it's just as easy to write the CRIS number with a permanent marker in several places throughout the caravan that aren't obvious, inside cupboards or in the bed locker etc. I also keep a note of these positions. It's probably unlikely that a thief would find them all and erase them.

its basically a way of identifying your caravan and its contents should they get stolen. If the previous owners did the job properly, the number should be in hideaway places throughout the van, e.g. in bed lockers, underneath the micro, so in the event that it is stolen you can rock up and pull out a drawer for e.g. and say that is my number, as for renewing, if you van is fairly new and valuable it may be worth it but i am not sure how much it costs to renew now.
