    The same is said about voting - if you don't vote,no ,matter how futile, then you have no right to comment or criticise.

    P.S Were you not CC wardens a number of years ago ?

    Increases in both clubs membership will fluctuate each year as this year the weather has been good so sales of LVs have increased,more have been Hiring LVs for staycations and there has been a big influx of visitors  from overseas the majority of whom will join the club's to save on pitch fees for their stays  but whether the renew next year will depend on what the climate in all aspects will pan out

    Could have something to do with not providing enough serviced pitches or not providing what the members want or expect. The CMC has always stood for the quality it provides and as such it should keep ahead of the game, always be proud of its quality and not try to be anything else. Quality always sells!!. I feel that CMC is going through a big change at the moment and it is this change that must be showing in the figures.  If it ain't broke then don't try to fix it!!  Keep, and always try to improve that quality.

    This may also be the reason why we see quite a few motorhomes pulling 'microish' cars. Afterall, one other advantage is they can always detach them and drive those last few difficult miles in convoy, you know, those roads that the towing units cannot reach.

    I think it's more both occupants rather than all, in most cases. Certainly in all those I know. Our friends tow a small car behind a PVC and they find this has opened up many remote areas to explore and stay in.

    Also, quite a few, due to towing issues abroad, detach the car and travel in convoy in those 'areas' which have been shown to be less than helpful regarding A frames. It seems to work for them too.

    Numerous of our generation it seem, do not drive or have had for medical reason "lost" their driving licence,,i am the sole driver since 1960, OH has never had or wanted a licence, and both the couple's with us at FM now  only one driver per LV both because of medical problems, and one (recently) is a motor caravan towing a car,so ther must be quite a few more out there

    I'm sure that's true for others too. One thing we must remember is that this is a 'broad church' we are members of! Don't forget that what works for some doesn't always work for others!

    I used to scoff at motorhomers pulling a small car but I don’t anymore. I used to think, what’s the point, you might as well have a caravan.

    Now though, my opinion is changing. With the ever increasing initial VED outlay on large 4x4’s coupled with the ongoing running costs of these vehicles, I’m not surprised many are ditching them for something smaller, petrol, hybrid or electric and ultimately a lot cheaper to run on a daily basis, away from when they are not doing towing duties.

    Of course, there are many that are happy pulling a light caravan with a ‘sensible’ family car, but, if you want the space and often, luxury of a large twin axle, then there’s a lot to ponder.

    I used to think there was no financial sense in buying an expensive motorhome and then pulling a city car behind it, but given the cost of new 4x4’s now, you can get a very nice motorhome for the same money.

    A motorhome will hold it’s value a lot better, which is especially good to know given the low mileage they are likely to do and little petrol city cars can be had for a fraction of the cost of a caravan.

    So, I scoff no more, I can see the financial sense behind the little car being dragged along by a motorhome. I haven’t gone down this route yet, I walk, cycle or catch the bus from wherever I pitch up... but I’m tempted, very tempted.

    That's precisely where we are. Options open! And the club seem far more inclusive to us motorhomers these days what with the rebrand, I like that just one night option too which appeals to the touring we do!

    Yes, since March when the Chausson replaced the Buccaneer and Range Rover, the way we holiday is now completely different. I think it’s a real buzz, moving around every couple of days. Not everyone’s cup of tea granted, but with the new found ease of set up and break down, it makes site hopping a lot of fun.

    And as you say, the Club are now endorsing the motorhome with greater enthusiasm, which helps.

    Personally, I think the rebrand made a great deal of sense and I hope the Club reaps the reward for the decision they made to go ahead, despite the cost.

    Some of the 60% may regret not having a sites book and map when they try to plan a touring holiday using the C&CC map search on website.

    I agree, some may miss those things... but since discovering the ‘searchforsites’ app... maps and books are destined to the recycling.

    It’s a very good app

    Think outside the tin box, that's the answer! Clearly the rebrand helped focus attention for some on all caravaners, motorised or otherwise! That was not the case in my opinion prior to 2017. There are more flavours these days than vanilla!wink

    I looked in 4 or 5 dealerships over the last two years. In at least 4 of them I saw information pamphlets for C&CC but on none of them did I see info for CC.

    yes and +1. I said at the time as long as the club maintains it good standard then the re brand would mean little to most folk . It has done that and more (two new sites)
