Fiat Ducato 3.0 Engine Start Problems
I have a 4 year old ducato based motorhome.
Occasionally the engine when hot won't start, all the lights come on, there is no dip in the lights,
the engine won't turn over at all, nothing. Also no clicking and no sound.
After 1-2 hours, when the engine cools down (not ideal at a pertrol station) it then starts with no problem first time.
Has anybody else come across this.
thanks

Reckon you need to get it looked at, TT, as there are several likely causes and it’s near impossible to guess.

I had a petrol car that did exactly the same. It was a starter motor problem. As said you need to get it into a Fiat agent so they can run tests. I suppose ideally you would arrange a time and give the engine a good run before arriving so they can see the problem at first hand.

It would be nice to hear if the OP ever sorted the problem as it might help someone else.
Perhaps he’s still sat in the cab trying to start it.😕

poor earth strap connections were a source of issue for Ducatos of that ilk....but could be anything.
i suggest you post on MMM forum and the resident Ducato guru, Nick Fisher (Euroserve), will likely pick it up...
he runs a fleet and what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing
