Hi

We are going to hear Ralph McTell in Hunstanton then heading for Edale.  We want to stop on the way probably between Kings Lynn and Newark.  But that means an arrival between about 11to 12pm.  This is in a campervan so we don't take long to settle down!  Any suggestions for a suitable stop?

Thanks

David

Why not stop at Hunstanton overnight, and then get a very early start on your trip to Edale?Just a thought.

That was the plan but the sites in Hunstanton are minimum 2 nights ... we could pay for two and stay one but not keen on that!

At that time of night with a camper van it might be Morrison's supermarket car park at Spalding after the store has closed. Their cafe will be serving breakfast from 8 am. next morning.

There's a CL at Snettisham behind the Queen Victoria pub. If you get there before closing time, about 10 minutes from Hunstanton, you should be OK. Give them a call first though. It's literally just off the A149 Hunstanton - Kings Lynn road.

After you pass the Beijing Palace on the A17 on the right,  way past Sutton Bridge, you'll come to a large sign on the left heading west saying CAFE. They have an area that caravanners can use as a rest stop but I don't know if this means overnight but there is also a truck stop attached for overnight so I would suggest you could try this. It's about 90 minutes from Hunstanton max.

If not there are a couple of spacious lay bys before the turn off to Grantham (A52).

ps  are we wasting our time? Have you found something? Be nice to know.

If you were thinking about stopping at Hunstanton, why not CCMH Sandringham site? You could stay a single night there, and it’s only down the road from Hunstanton.

Ian, it's a late arrival the OP wants, so a club site is no good.

    Nellie, so he does.

and if the OP opts for the CL at the Queen Vic at Snettisham - a pity he may not have time to try the food. We’ve had some good home cooked meals there.
