Site barrier times - or lack of them!

The way I see it is, if you know the site gates are locked at a given time then its up to you to be back in time.
The warden doing his/her job is not the issue its the flipping noisy tractor electric golf carts are the norm over here

I agree TG!
Black Horse Farm is the site for the Channel Tunnel and as such members will be coming and going at all hours.
I have no problem however with those who need to leave early on other sites bearing in mind that perhaps I may need to do so on the odd occasion.
Perhaps I am less sensitive than others!

No, it’s up to me to use a site that doesn’t impose curfews and treat me like an institutionalised person if I want the freedom to go out and return when I choose.
I guess it’s much the same as you boycotting sites over here where tractors are in use. I assume that is what you do as it seems to bother you a lot.

I am seldom in bed after 0600, and on sites often visit the shower block about 0630. On the way to the showers I have regularly seen people preparing to leave, sometimes because the barrier is disabled until 0700. Iv'e always assumed that they are leaving early because they have to do so, for whatever reason. They have usually been very quiet, but then I have not been on the next pitch. I have also often seen people leave the site at 0700 in cars, presumably, to visit nearby shops or whatever as they return soon after.

Not read every post on this thread but don't you think one of the main reason barriers are shut down in Europe as opposed to here is to stop people leaving without paying as they pay at the end of their stay unlike the UK where we pay up front.
Just a thought

Keep as is for me! Afterall we are tourers and we enjoy the freedom to hit that 'open' road according to our sojourn . It would be impossible to coordinate our movements, we don't all arrive and depart on the same day and we can stay as few or as many nights (21 max) as we please availability depending.
The important thing is we do all we possibly can on departure to minimise any nuisance to fellow members.
Also, there may be that unwanted, unplanned crucial departure in the ery early hours thankfully never had one but how would that happen without disturbance if we were on lock down.

+1 (would have used the like button but it doesn't seem to make the 1 person likes this appear)
