Are we the only ones?

I think trailer tents are great, we've had a couple in the years gone past. The only reason we have more metal around us now is so we're able to camp in all seasons, nothing to do with money. Enjoy your trailer tent, I bet loads of people are wishing they were you in these extreme temperatures we're having at present 😎

Hi Jenni,
Myself and my partner are new Trailer Tent owners (so new that we have yet to name her). We are located in Devon and went on our first two night get away to a site about 40 mins away. We spent the weekend getting to know the trailer tent and exploring the inside storage options. I think our main issue was erecting the awning, infact a very nice couple helped us out after seeing the confused look on our faces.
I would be interested yo know of any hints and tips you might have. The obvious one we discovered is that we needed a set of steps as we are both around 5.5ft..lol!
Thank you for reading x

Good to hear of trailer tenters out having a good time. We have never owned one, but would have loved one in our camping days. We were pitched up next to one a few years ago at Durham Grange. December, snow and -7c. They were snug and warm though!
We would never look down on anyone for their choice of touring outfit, especially as our caravan is now coming up for its thirty fifth birthday! We love her too much to part with her, a Resto project is planned.

We have very happy memories of a very old trailer tent which we had for several years from about 1995. It was old, the canvas was worn but we loved it. People may have looked down at it but when it blew a gale at Filey it was one of the few tents and awnings which survived undamaged.
Easy to tow, arrival to sitting with a cup of tea fully set up in 40 minutes and space for 5. Enjoy it and the ignore anyone who looks down on you.

Yes.... fantastic photos! It's a pity there are not more trailer tenters around on here. Please don't think of it as 'poor country mouse cousins - indeed, perhaps with the trend towards smaller and cleaner cars, we will see more of trailer tents in times to come? I'll look out for you Jenni...
Best wishes
David

Having been up and down that 'rank' subject to changing needs, finances and opportunities, I love to see that variety on site, those folding caravans, micro caravans and carapods etc. What's more, thinking back I loved the 'canvas holidays' just as much. When in that time I will admit I was a little envious of those campervaners, now I'm just a tad envious of the tenters and the different experience it offers!
