Paintwork protection
I remember a thread back at the beginning of CT which discussed the merits of purchasing paintwork protection at the point of sale of new caravans and motorhomes. Now, after several years down the line, I'm wondering if these products have really stood the test of time and whether they are worth us considering when ordering new vans?

At 4.5 years, ours still seems to be working. Still very easy to just wipe van over and it comes up looking good, plus black streaks mostly wipe off easily. Although latterly some faint traces have remained.
More so though is the interior protection, that was part of the deal. In the four years I have managed to spill both coffee and red wine on the seats.☹️ Both have cleaned off easily without any staining.
So overall, I would say we are happy with our purchase.

I've had two cars, in the past, done with some sort of 'paintwork protection' and my wife's car - new last year was also done. I've never paid for it (well, according to the salesman) - it's always been thrown in as part of the deal.
Overall - not impressed and certainly wouldn't have paid extra for it since the 'shine' only seems to last a few months, at most.
I've always given our 'van at least a couple of coats of Auto Glymn every year and only ever wash it with Stardrops because it's salt-free and doesn't take the polish off. Three years on, it still looks like new - virtually no streaking and any that is there, washes off easily.

My caravan was treated with 'Paintseal' previous to us buying it second hand so I cannot say when it was applied. I have not been vanning long so can not compare it with anything previous but we are fairly happy with the results after a wash.

I paid for paint protection when i bought my new caravan, i'm not that impressed with it and dont think i would buy it when i change my caravan. It doesn't seem any easier to clean than without the protection and it gets just as dirty.

I think it is,like others I've had it thrown in 'free' but until I have enough money to buy two identical cars and one with and one without, use them equally identically I think it is difficult for a sound judgement.
Like most 'extra' things in dealers, cars and van they sell it to make them a profit for them?
interesting video here when I was looking at it last, of course you can find others to say its works too. Has any caravan/MH magazine ever done a compassion?
