Awning extensions off hard standing

Hi

not sure of the clubs approach to sleeping extensions to awnings. We need to use our sleeping extension next month and provided we use a breathable groundsheet on the grass at the rear or the pitch (off the hard standing) I assume we are we ok?

Many thanks

Simon

I think the grass is not part of your pitch, so you would have to ask the warden. I have certainly seen pup tents erected behind vans.

You would also of course have to maintain a 3 metre separation from any unit behind, so that might control your choice of pitch.

    Edit

    from the club rules :-

    5. Using awnings or tents

    a. On pitches with awning space you can erect an awning. You may also put up a tent for extra sleeping accommodation, or a specially designed toilet or cooking tent, provided the main outfit is occupied, but please keep them within your pitch area.

Ring the site before you go and speak to site staff they will inform you of pitching requirements.

Best to ask I guess, often that grass area is part of the fire break you would think, Possibly contact them before you arrive, they may be able to allocate a suitable pitch where it can be done.

Could the extension not go on the front and thus remain within your own pitching area?  I wouldn't risk not being able to erect the extension at the rear because it's outside your pitching area if you need it for sleeping.

Thanks all. I will call site. Putting extension on the front does make access to front locker very awkward, but I appreciate still an option.

You wouldn’t be at Bridlington site ?! Manny warden there told us to move our cycle tent? 🤨 as it wasn’t on the hard standing !!
