No Rain, Francis? How come? It's hosed down both here in North Wales and in Derbyshire this morning when we left. The scenery for your cycle ride probably couldn't have been bettered bearing in mind where you are  Enjoy the fest of your weekend.

Can't believe it. MIL (85 at present) has just told Mrs WN what she wants to do for her 2020 holiday, having already booked a week in Madeira in December this year and her jollies in July next year in Italy.

She's determined to leave us nowt!surprised

So we have to work, not just next years schedule around her timescale, (plus having to be home for a special weekend in January) but also 2020. You have to admire her optimism.smile

Spent an hour mopping the MH floor after it was discovered that the drain pipe had become detached from its spigot on the bowl. yell Hopefully I have pushed it on sufficiently to prevent reoccurence.

Had the daily special linguine at the "Olive Tree" bistro in Bude. A warning. Unless you are really, really, really hungry, do not go for the 'large' serving.

JVB we also went this morning to the maritime fest.    Went on a couple of the ships 🚢 pity there were no tall ships this year.  Listened to a couple of the acts but left at 12 when it started to rain.

Grandtwins came round this afternoon as SIL wanted to repair the security lock on 9ne of our doors.

Hope you have a great trip to Sandringham Millie

PS. Just watch the new John Lewis advert, how will they beat that for Christmas 🎄?

Have just watched the wonderful young lady saxophonist on Last Night of the Proms. How wonderful to see someone so talented and modern at The Proms.

Perhaps they won't be able to afford one for Christmas!!! But the re-branding one is great fun.

Its raining now lol but we are in the van watching TV so not bothered. Yes the scenery is wonderful one of my favourite cycle routes right up the side of Loch Lomond so lucky to have an area like this so close to home.

Oh dear brue. I hope you get a new box of tiles quickly and at no cost to you.  Things can only get better as they say.  There was a programme on the radio the other day about delivery drivers and how hopeless some of them are.  I suspect they are always in a rush because they are on a time limit.

We are just home from a nice weekend at Lomond Woods at Loch Lomond. We had dinner on friday night at the Queen of the Lich pub across the road from the site which is always very nice and serves food at a reasonable price. Yesterday I went a nice cycle up to Luss which is a round trip of about 20 miles. We have been back caravanning again for just under a year and today was the first time that we struggled to get the van off pitch. They have installed rocks and wooden posts as pitch markers which made it very difficult to manouver the van the mover was great so glad we got it fitted when we bought the van as I dont think we could have got it off pitch without it. Not away next weekend but going away for 4 nights to the Lake District the following week.

Up and off early from home. Arrived on CMC site at Cheddar some 4 hours later. The caravan parking bays at Gloucester Services was jam packed when we pulled in for a lunch break. Lots of silver surfers on the move. Good area to stop at if you are passing this way. Same Northbound.

Must be losing my marbles as this is the fifth CMC site we've stayed at this year.surprised Nearly as many as our CL stopovers. Very pleasant site, smallish but lovelg views of the hills to the east from our pitch. Off on the bikes tomorrow.

Popped down to Cornwall for about 36 hours to celebrate our youngest daughter's 21st.  Could only stay down for one night (Friday) as I needed to get back on Saturday evening.  Decided it was just not practicable to take the caravan so we booked a really nice B&B at a little hamlet called Gwennap.  The Old Vicarage was a gem of a place really worth the visit....  http://www.oldvicaragegwennap.com

......by the way, for those that knew about my knee op tomorrow, it's been postponed for another two weeks - the anesthetist want to have another appointment just to check aspects of my clinical history.  He is checking out every single ache and pain! 🙂.

Saw the sign for Gwennap as we drove down the A30 yesterday. I'd have given you a wave had I known, David. Gwennap Pit is, of course, famous as a location that John Wesley preached.

I like the area around Gwennap, a bit of "old" Cornwall. We usually drive round the back via the edge of Redruth to get to Falmouth rather than get in queues in Truro. It must have been covered in mines years ago. The Old Vicarage looks lovely David. I had thought you must be having your op by now, sorry there is a delay but best wishes for the new date ahead.

Arrived home today after a lovely weekend in the Cotswolds, went to the Classic Car day held at Toddington Station on the GWSR.  Weather was good, and the turnout of cars was really good. Lots to look at and OH was pleased to see plenty of MG's smile I liked the Ford Escort estate modified to a camper, lift up roof and fold out bit at the back!

ADD46  we know The Ship well, brought back a few memories smile

David,  sorry to hear op postponed, but good to know they are double checking everything out.

Wherenext enjoy Cheddar,  we enjoyed cycling the Strawberry Line the last time we stayed there, nice pub in Axbridge,  did a good pint of Butcombe wink

undecided  The "Concorde" nicely tucked away tonight in storage ,after last week's I.o.W break.Refreshed and chilled ready for ,,,,who know's what  ???.A couple of changes noticed on the I.o.W ,,the Red Funnel car park on East Cowe's is now much bigger and easier, after the purchase and demolition of the old adjacent buildings. And the first 'pub' thet you see upon exiting the ferry ,"The White Hart" has also been bought up by Red Funnel for their expansion plans.Being demolished in about four weeks or so.

"Waverley" was as good as ever ,but the bar/restaurant closes on the 16th of this month.SO,,,off to the "Lifeboat " if you require good food and drinks MMM. !!

Moved today to Tournus, getting hotter 30c this afternoon.

Was going to stop at Mersault but didn't like the site so moved on to here. Not sure where to next as its hot don't want to go further South until it cools a bit.

New caravan and car going well.

We liked Troyes, loved the old town. Yesterday we loaded the bikes onto the back of the car and went to lac d'Orient, what a lovely place, nice site there too, might try it another time for a few days.

    DSB, sorry op cancelled.

We arrived at Sandringham CAMC yesterday and managed to get the awning up even though there was a very stiff breeze. surprised We had a nice walk from the site through the woods this morning and then had a trip into Hunstanton this afternoon, walked along the front and saw the memorial to the people lost in the 1953 foods.  Looking at the names it seems that a lot of members of the same families were lost. So very sad.  The gardens on the front have had a make over and look really lovely. We are off to Cromer tomorrow for a matinee performance of the Pier Show.

Glad you had such a good weekend Helen.

Sorry your op has been postponed David.

     Hi Helen.

We cycled along the Strawberry Line today! And we did in fact call off in the Lamb in Axbridgesmile. I was lucky again and found a Timothy T but Mrs WN did sample the Butcombe and pronounced that we may have to go back.laughing  Glad you had a good weekend.

    Off climbing the hills tomorrow.

All those who are away, enjoy yourselves.

TG we stayed at the site at Lac d’orient about 5 years ago.  Great facilities and always nice to have an evening wander along the lakeside.  Glad your enjoying your new van.

Enjoy your stay at Sandringham Millie and Heddlo

Got a new wood store today, so after assembling it we shifted a load of logs so they are closer to the house for the winter.

Had to take my new bike to have a puncture repaired.  It’s brand new and never been ridden.  The guy in the shop said he wasn’t surprised cos they received lots of bikes from the manufacturers with punctures.

Choices, choices WN, TT and Butcombe have to have a couple of each to make up my mind🍺🌞

Set off this morning on our latest trip, arriving at Bryars Farm CL, near Preston spot on noon. Pleasantly surprised as they have laid new hardstandings and enlarged the pitches. After a dry day the rain has now set in so it looks like a wet walk before turning tonight. Tomorrow morning I'm taking the car into Doves at Preston for it's 2nd service, the real reason we're stopping here.

Not been on here for a while so there are lots of post to catch up on, so I apologise if I not responded to post addressed to me.

Caught up a bit now....Sorry to hear that your op has been postponed David, hope that it goes through in a fortnight.

Glad that everyone that's been away this weekend, and those that are still out there, have had a good time.

WN & millie, have a good time at your respective sites.

Sorry to hear about the tiles, brue, just hope that they can be replaces quickly and your OH can get the job finished.

I bet Goldie and family are busy this week getting their cows all shined up, as it's the Westmorland Show this Thursday.
