Just as an aside to the size of the land that BW is on ,I understand that the next door buildings and sailing club are also on the councils eye for a quick buck bit of money as well , which would then give quite a large plot, of landsurprised

possibly another reason that Rowntree Park was not  given the opportunity to be made bigger and a Hotel is going up on that bit of groundundecided

The problem is the land in cities is at a premium and caravan sites simply do not make enough money to compete. Unless like Edinburgh where the Council want it there is probably no long term future for this type of site. A pity but money rules.

I expect the council will capitalise in order to generate as much money as possible for affordable housing (which will not be at Baltic Warf). If I represented the people living in Bristol on the waiting list for a council house then that is what I would want.

However I am afraid that this piece of land will be used to allow a very small number of well heeled people to enjoy the attractive location. CAMC members are not important to the council and I doubt there would be any sympathy for our hobby amongst those living in the city.

This was the last formal statement put out by BCC regarding Baltic Wharf, followed by the rejection of the planning application for a new site at the old Police Horse Headquarters (which is now derelict and an eyesore.) Whatever happens to Baltic Wharf lets hope the club and the city council can come to an agreement about finding a new site.

That statement was reported in July if 2015...Anyone aware if the club has signed a new and similar lease with the 6 month notice clause...
