It is indeed unfortunate that people were allowed to book a site which ended up not opening. However we shouldn't assume that the Club knew when they accepted the bookings ( December 2016) that Mildenhall would not open in 2017? It seems the decision was made at the last minute so perhaps couldn't have been foretold.
I do agree with your second point. I have often commented on the fact that communication within the Club is not what it should be. I don't think its patronising, more a case of the left hand etc. Part of the trouble is that we get answers second and third hand and its a shame the Club does not have a policy of accountability by those directly involved in the decisions commenting directly to members.

I forgot to mention that whilst at the anglia QT, the 'top table' said we are looking very hard for new sites, however they were not aware that a private site was up for sale in Suffolk on the internet, and some other members put some suggestions to them, but my question is why do they wait for us to tell them what sites are about, if we can find them on the net, why can't they, surely this regional officer's job is to look after the region ??, not just close down sites, be proactive in looking for replacements if the need arise, I don't have much confidence in ours at present.
We lost Newmarket racecourse a few years ago, surely any racecourse or county & local showgrounds must have land doing nothing when not in its primary use, even if it means the site has to close for a few intermittent weeks whilst being used for the initial purpose, and many showgrounds already have some infra structure in place !

It's why the club has an inflated and overpaid DG and Chair along with an overpaid Director tier. Clearly now a business designed to serve the top tier whatever the cost. Until members force a change it will simply continue to be worked for the few and they know it. Money for old rope !!!!!

that is interesting how much does the DG and chair get paid? And in what way is it inflated and over paid?

It is now over 5 months since the site closed and no-one from HO has come on to this post and offered any sort of explanation, as far as I can see. So I think that that is patronising and not which hand knows what, as you suggested, David.
