For aĺl the disbelievers out there check out Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park and compare it with the Club's site at Willingcott just a few miles away. Even without the discount being offered it is still cheaper than Willingcott.

PD - you're pushing at an open door you know. I don't think anyone has ever doubted that there are cheaper sites than club sites in the same region. But I bet if I wanted to I could find one in the same area that's more expensive than Willingcott!

Granted it is cheaper by around £5 p/n, PD. Mind you, add in something like £2.50 for a dog and £5 for an extra car (the club is £2), and about £4 for a child (willingcott is £1) and you can soon eat into that difference.
I see they want payment upfront too.
Still, if it makes you happy…

Fair enough. I expect it’ll be quieter now than it is in the mayhem of peak season too.
Actually, I don’t remember an access problem at Willingcott. I must have forgotten that.

so that site is not cheaper for those with dogs or children? You were not giving the whole story PD when saying it was cheaper, only cheaper for you?

Goodness, it’s a big site, isn’t it? I bet that’s fun.
Woolacombe Sands on the left, Willingcott on the right.

and wow, don't they milk you for all they can get?

Also lets compare prices at half term in October for two adults, at Woolacome a HS pitch comes in £157.50, while the club site price is £135.10, so is it still cheaper as you claim PD?

Can’t be, JV. PD said it looked nice.

Aw, come on, Corners, let PD dream his little dream. Anyway, what’s £20 when it’s to stay on a far better site?

yes sorry, I'll go to the naughty step

I think someone should patent a ‘CT board game’ a user of the thread posts a few lines of ‘I saw this & it’s bigger/better/cheaper than C&MC’ then it’s a race to prove whether the poster is right or wrong👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎

well I suppose you're right with the £20... but I have just done the same comparison for a couple for seven nights in August next year.
Willingcott comes in at £195.30 while the 'cheaper' site at Woolacome comes in at a staggering £315.30 (with discount mind).
And don't forget to add £10.50 of their insurance to that total so that in the even of having to cancel or alter your booking you'll get that back.

just bored but been looking at this Woolacome site T&C. Interesting reading:
Pre-booked pitches are available from 2.00pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on day of departure.
Club win there?
Extra cars, tourers, motorhomes or tents are not allowed on the same pitch...All extra cars will be charged at £6 per car per night (£5 if Pre-Booked).
Club win there?
Electric Hook-ups:- Supply is 240 volts – 10 amps
Club win again?
Refunds will not be given on site. Refunds will not be given for inclement weather or curtailment of stay
Club... you get the idea?
Only 1 dog per booking unless otherwise arranged.
We do not accept cats or any other pets.
Club mega-win there?
And people complain about the club's booking and T&C?

Phew! My £20 remark was very much tongue in cheek but you’ve discovered a terrific difference.
I think that, although the club does increase prices at peak times, they aren’t hiked to the same extent as many commercial sites. As there is a greater degree of levelling out of club fees, it results in the club being slightly dearer on occasion at off peak times but, seemingly, much cheaper than some sites during peak season.

I agree but I think to say to us 'unbelievers' that this site is cheaper than a club site is misleading. Yes it may well be at certain times of the year but that part was omitted?

Are club sites expensive ?, I don't really know
I have just looked at the cost of 6 nights 29th Sept of Crossways site (CMC), Moreton site (CCC)the other side of the railway line and a CL at the entrance to Crossways
Crossways 105 pounds
Moreton 139 pounds
CL 90 pounds, and the web site says from 15 pounds, so could be more
I book a site which is where I want to visit and don't really look at the cost ,location is more important to me
this thread could go round and round in circles, you look at a product (site) evaluate it and either buy it or not …………..

well that proves it then, CC are cheaper than all others

It depends on how many people there are in your party. There is only myself and my 2 dogs so of course it usually cheaper to stay on C&MH sites than some CL sites (with hook up and toilet facilities which I prefer) or private sites. Some smaller C&MH sites with no toilet block such as Aberbran, have a set fee of £14.00 which is expensive for one person for a site with no facilities, but of course many work out quite reasonable for 2 or more people.
