Brighton and the awning peg situation

We are booked for Christmas and the New Year on the Brighton Club site. Reading the reviews it seems that it is almost impossible to get awning pegs into the hard ground, even rock pegs! Does anyone know of pitch numbers where we might be successful in erecting our awning please?

Don't know what you're currently using to knock pegs in to hardstanding but suggest either club hammer or Stanley stainless steel hammer.  Pitch numbers seem irrelevant.

I have been going there for many years and have yet to find one i don't bother to take a awning now as they are all a nightmare it does not mater what size or make of hammer you use you will bend your pegs or fail to get them in enough

Ah! ..... the joys of the infernal gravel hard standing .... 🙄

Pegs either won't in the blasted things or won't stay in once you've got them in.

The club must be aware of this and should either, in some way, facilitate the putting up of awnings or stop selling them as awning pitches,

Come hell or high water caravanners are determined to hang a tent on the side of their caravan - even in  midwinter. How on earth do motorhomers manage to do without? Leave the tent at home.

Stayed at Braithwaite Fold a few times, under both this club and C&CC. This site is also a former quarry and on most pitches, extremely difficult to get rock pegs past the gravel. Last year, the C&CC warden asked on arrival if I was going to put an awning up and if so, I could borrow his drill with a diamond tipped bit... it worked a treat.
