The small burner on my oven won't ignite.

I've tried poking a thin pointed needle into the gas jet and it appears to be clear but the burner still will not light. Does anyone know of a caravan repair outfit that is qualified to carry out work on a gas system?  MG Caravans of Royston are a pretty good company with trained technicians but their work on gas systems seems to be limited to just a check but not the repair. I would appreciate any ideas or solutions as to what I can do now?

Is it the oven or the hob. is the gas coming out and can light using a flame, is the ignitor working. with you saying "small burner" I take it its the hob not the oven.

Trampers, any competent person can carry out work on a caravan’s gas system. That may be you, your neighbour or the local plumber. Touring caravans are not covered by the Gas Safe regulations unless hired out.

Your problem is likely to be with the hardware - jets, most probably.

Is it the pilot light that won't work?

Is the piezo spark generator working?

Does the pilot light when a flame applied to the jet?

Personally, in absence of experience in this, I would go to a caravan, qualified gas engineer. Sorry, cannot comment on whom that would likely be in your area.

    best of luck.

Do you mean the pilot light? Is the glass lid fully open on the hob? We've tried lighting the oven, then remembered the glass lid needs lifting before trying to light the oven.
